Its a trend i see many complained about or has played the few that lets you be your own character (Fatal Bullet and Integral Factor)

shingeki no kyoujin, made in abyss, dragon ball, and yeah naruto game let you create your own character as protagonist of the story.

As it stands, Fatal Bullet is still the best game of this series.
It's a shame that the canon date of Aincrad's start came and went without anything of substance beyond a new (and probably already dead) gacha mobile game.

I would love something akin to SAO: Integral Factor, but built for consoles and with an actual story for all 100 floors of Aincrad, and with much more refined mechanics and the gacha replaced for an actual skill/weapon system.

Never cared for Alice or her world, so all of these new games have been of zero interest to me, doubly so because they're Kirito-only games.

i would like to have a character of my own in the naruto universe thats sounds fun its like have you never played games like dragon ball xenoverse its awesome would love something like that in naruto

This - Fatal Bullet was awesome, they actual integrated your own character in the story.
Same with Attack on Titan 2.

If they'd really care, they do something like that - otherwise you just play Kirito

Personally, I don't really care about self-inserting myself into the story like this.
Asian RPGs are done in a different fashion than western ones, anyway.

Western ones are more about your own character. Besides, what good would be having your own character if you only have the responses that are fit for the current situation anyway "all affirmation or all negative", with no impact on the plot.

It would be you "in appearance only", but what defines you as a person is your "personality" which I am pretty sure differs from person to person.

Personally. I rather take a story with a defined protagonist, even if I don't agree with how they act or how they look like. Not every character in a story has to be your favourite. It is much easier to write a story if you know your characters, anyway.

not really a self insert for me more i have characters who i recreate for games which have personalities that i change a little to fit the game but i like my characters add a little imagination like i have a character whos not talkative ones that are heroic,evil ones etc
lilith being my most used as i use her as the bad ass albino who iv used since i was child who in my head has the voice of the female MC in saint rows which is even funnier cause that voice is also lucinas english dub

Yeah, I can see that reasoning. I was just expressing my personal opinion is all.
