You need to perform a sword skill and get hit from a SWORD SKILL from your enemy (enemy sword skill start with a "start up" animation.
The mistake everyone make (including myself for the first time) is, that you try to get hit during a normal attack (which does nothing). Attack pattern from enemys are most 2 - 4 "normal" attack and than a sword skill (start your own sword skill as soon as you see the enemy skill "start up" animation ).
Bleh. this weapon sounds very unattractive but that explains a lot. lol i do like the Awakening system for the most part. it tells you exactly how you should be trying to play each weapon. Well, most anyway. some gimmicks are not unique to this or that. in the case of 2h sword im guessing you want to tank, but whether or not you're DPS or Tank idk. id argue Rapier is in a similar position because its awakening is based off perfect evades. Dual Swords seems like a straight forward type, just build SP and spend SP doing Skill connect EXs. Sorry i'm babbling but uhh yeah i'll have to try to play 2h sword with a more "Responsible" mindset.
Forgot to mention, that 2h (and rapier, too) Awakening increases auto every few seconds (it does not matter, if you controll the char or not). Increasing 2h seems to be easy too: spam long skills like cyclone before an enemy uses his supermove and your chance to increase Awakening gets very high.
But I appreciate everyone clarifying this for me
