Should I play Lycoris and its dlc first? or jump right in?
Topic, as I have Lycoris but I've never finished it or have any of its dlc's How much will I be missing if I do not complete them first? and is there anything special in Last Recollection for having save data from Lycoris? I didn't even know this game existed till I just happened to see it on my reccomended today.

This is a direct sequel to Lycoris and in it's core the same game, just a bit more polished and with new story. I would play Lycoris first and if you like it, buy this one aswell.

If you don't like Lycoris, there is no point of getting this.

I rather enjoyed Lycoris actually, other than the whole acc mechanic, guess I'll pick up the dlc and go thru it again a bit later as I haven't played it since release.
I had literally no idea this game was coming, Lycoris was sort of tied to the earlier part of the story of Sword Art Online : Alicization, this is the war arc of the anime time frame, obviously with a difference - in the anime Kirito was pretty much in a coma from Defeating the Administrator to near the end of the war so different from the game.

The word "culmination" is a sad one used by the devs, seems what most people have feared - the end of SAO as a whole.

Having finished the game and wondered about this myself, the only thing I'd recommend is going for finishing the main game and getting its true ending (Which I believe requires Medina at max affinity). The first DLC tells you how you get a sword that you start LR with, and the second one (which I havent done yet) only introduces a character that shows up in LR, but the plot of both of those DLC has so little bearing on the story of LR that if you don't want to grind the levels and gear to do em you don't have to.

EDIT: You *might* have to do the final boss twice, once for normal end and once for true end. I did the true end months after finishing the game when they updated it to be easier cause only one person had gotten it so I'm not sure. Haven't played the Steam version to completion to check.
