Last Recollection Being the Last Gameverse Game and Possibly Last SAO game for a while
So the chief producer of the sao gameverse has stated on twitter that Last Recollection will be the final game in the gameverse storyline. But... chances are LR will also be the last SAO game we get for a long time. Aquria who has developed most of the games in the gameverse, will be moving on from sao games after LR and are currently working on another action RPG called Crymachina. With them making a non sao game and the seasons pass being not as big as the others. Chances are this will be Aquria's last sao game for a while and since Futami is moving on as well, the last sao game we get for a long while.

Let's hope the experience will be worth it. I am personally excited for it.

I would guess they'll make one for the last arc of SAO too, but they like referencing the anime for the games, and it'll be a long while before a new anime arc of SAO drops (not counting Progressive).

That's what they said about Lycoris as well and it wasn't as you see. Their excuse for the extra monetization was that it was the final game of the gameverse, so they wanted to make people play as long as possible. I bet they are using the same excuse for LR as well now lol.

Now that Aquria is finally going away, maybe we can get an actual good company to work on a SAO game. Like DIMPS for example. They did such a good job with Fatal Bullet.

Tbf, they did walk that back later on with Lycoris. And the reason why they said Lycoris was initially supposed to be the final sao game was because they thought they couldn’t finish Last Recollection with them being spread across 3 different projects (can’t forget that Aquria is still a pretty small studio with them not even having 100+ employees). Now chances are that Bandai could make more sao games in the gameverse timeline. But Last Recollection is pretty upfront about it being the last game in the timeline.

this game lowkey looks like SAO AL + they literally have the same equipment, skills and skill animations like in AL. Same system with the skill connects etc. Not worth buying when I look back at SAO FB being the best of those games turning into something like LR is just a shame. SAO AL was fun at the beginning but the developers were not fulfilling their promises, talking about weekly raids and updates. Bosses were the same, dlcs coming years after the release even though one bought the deluxe version to play the two big dlcs. At first it surprised me that they wanted to release another SAO game and i was curious about it. Seeing the game being a copy paste of AL is just embarassing at this point.

0/10 for this game and the studio

The studio of Fatal Bullet just did one SAO game and it turned out to be the best of those.

To be honest, as a fan of sao, I'm confused. On the one hand, you want to buy the game, but on the other hand, you look at other niche jrpgs and they win almost everything that is in sao games. + as a dlc for the licorice full edition is quite expensive, so xs what is there to think. It's easier to buy a person 5, and the licorice is at a discount. Although I’m saying this now, and then I can stupidly buy on the last day of pre-order X)

They did not fulfill the simplest promise that players have been asking for since the first day, namely additional save slots. Players who ever want to replay don't want to lose their main character. I know from my own experience that lycoris is very hard to level up. At least 3 save slots. But those support for three years sent everyone together "we will pass on your requests to the development team"

Did you even play Fatal Bullet? As game it was fine, but on a technical level the game was horrible, even worse then Alicization Lycoris.
If you tried to play the game with 60fps the enemies shot twice as fast, with 120fps four times as fast and so on and they never fixed that.

The best SAO-game is still Hollow Realization and that one was also made by Aquria. Since they are going to use Alicization Lycoris foundation, I actually see a higher chance for us to get a good game, as it happended with Hollow Realization, which was build upon the foundation of Hollow Fragment.

All of the games basic element are there, now they just have to focus on, you know, making the game actually fun.

The comment on op's statement, I don't think this will be the last SAO-game, this franchise is just too profitable for that. Even if Aquria doesn't make any more SAO-games, we might see another studio take on the franchise, as it happened in the past.

Here I do not agree. The fatal bullet looks better than the licorice. I played both games on release and I still remember those 20 fps and crashes with not being able to get through some chapter 1 passes. Because of which I had to wait 2-3 months until they fix it. And by the way, so far, the old village of eugeo is the most laggy. And I read somewhere that this is due to the conflict of the old textures with the hollow implementation. Lycoris would have everything to become a Zelda or a witcher in the world of sao. But we got a meager set of soundtracks, but which are memorable. Huge world, beautiful, but uninteresting to explore. Well-written dialogues, but due to a very stretched middle, I dropped the game for half a year, then finished it. DLS I don't know, because after some events last year, I had to play in San Francisco. I hope they will improve or completely change the game engine (since there are rumors that it may be ue4, and not the one that was in licorice. But I'm not sure. I just want to get a normal sao game.

Im well aware of what im stating here. I have played Fatal bullet since release until last year. All I did was speedrunning quests, since they had a leaderboard it was fun to do it solo and with a squad. Coming to the technical level of the game it was the best of all the games I dont know what you mean by horrible. The skill system was perfectly done in this game and how you use them, aim and shooting system was also good. Loved to speedrun since the game was technically the best. I also played Lycoris since the release and speedrunned aswell. Doing quick kill bosses or 1dk's was fun but on a long term basis the same? no thank you, since they said there will be weekly updates and those updates came 2 years after release. Months of farming the same accessoires for just some seconds runs was just stupid tbh. Thousands of hours invested in farming and barely getting good stats on them. Would have been fun if they really evolved their farming system and put some effort into it. But it is how it is

And you cannot defend this game when it exactly looks like its predecessor Lycoris. I will buy it to see if its the same since I have all of those SAO games. But I am not recommending it right now as from the trailer, its just a better graphic version of Lycoris with the same equipment, skills and skill animations.

The only problem for me in AL Lycoris at the beginning of release was Fps drops no crashes and i played it on the normal ps4 not pro and it was a great game. Sao Last Recollection looks the same perfect. All Sao Games where great at all and maybe we have to wait a little longer for the next game in Unital Ring Arc but then we have a Survival Game with crafting entire buildings xD
