Really? % from max energie thats sounds so odd... Strange desing but i will test it .)
When you select a difficulty, I believe there's a text box that describes how much Power you'll receive, usually something like "400 + 50% of max outpost capacity" or somesuch. The higher the difficulty, the more energy it'll give you at start.
Core Power influences the strength of your turrets, and the range of your X-Field.
Nyamses is right with what he wrote :)
So no cap for Energie. Just for Core Power
Power/Energy starts you with 50% of your maximum power + 600 flat
By the time you will start to feel this is in City or if you grind out a lot of lower level areas and just fill your base with batteries. Having a higher cap is still good because it does impact how much starting energy you have but after a certain level it is just at a reduced rate. You can still get up to that cap depending on how much material farming you do during the tours.
It appears that Damage Buff is currently capped at 300% which is achievable at 3000 core power which could be a bug. It also appears that X-Field is not affected by it and keeps increasing with your Core Output.
What do you mean by no core power cap?
The hard limit is 10 000 you won't be able to increase it beyond Seems to be boosted to 100k.
3000 is currently the set limit for boosting your turrets. Unsure if they also changed it's limit will see.
X-field just stop showing once you get too high since it's mostly bigger then most of the maps except infinite siege.
Energy (electricity) has no limit, which is different but after 4000 you really don't need more for a basic Tour. Increasing it just allows you to spend it in a more wasteful way to get more materials.
Been wondering about the field range myself. Is there a practical reason to extend this range beyond the 3000 core output for damage boost? Or should I just hover around 3000?
The only thing that scales past 3k core power is Player Defense in the X-Field. So if you want more defense you can keep stacking but effectively there is no reason to go beyond 3k.
The diminishing returns for expeditions starts at around 1500 Power.
After that you get exponentially less, as when I had 2550 I started with 1600 power, but with 4700 I only start expeditions with 2900.
The highest possible map length you can get is 15 nodes on City Ruins 5, (there is an achievement tied to it) which can only cost 1400 energy to traverse the entire map, any extra is a heavy investment, and best used for spamming scans and unlocking doors.
TLDR aim for 1400, anything extra is just a bonus.
PSA: On recovery day you can spend Energy on Risk events
Costing 100, 200, 300, etc
So extra power is defintely worth building and having
