My suggestion is to abandon all but the last Promethean Core, because your Outpost turrets with 10k range can fire at the incoming enemies, so it evens out the field a bit, but that'd require you to be self sufficient with autoloaders and have a strong enough Outpost to deal with attacks incoming from the sides.
If you're not on that level yet, just evac at Wave 9 and repeat the process. Wave 10+ has a significant difficulty jump that's not worth it to try and hold out the forward Promethean Cores. I got a few Legendary equipment upgrades this way that helped ease the difficulty curve into City Ruins.
As for Endles Mode, everything rises and falls with Ammo Management and Dps in my Oppinion. + (Core Power)
Build your Base to defend all 3 Sides, set up Turrets to fire upon speciffic targets and stagger the Firing Range so u dont waste 5 shots on 1 Target. << helps a LOT!
Same with Arty/ Missiles and Massive Targets.
Alternative would be to invest heavy into buildable Defence and i mean like 20+ buildable Turrets +Cover, Autoloader Upgrade and so on, to fortify the Promethean Core Outpost... and requires 4 Hands to build and set up everything XD
