Most the games negative reviews are non-english ones, so I can't say why there is such a huge difference between the english and non-english review ratios.
For all I know it can be another never-to-be-completed game. I'm still kinda burned by for instance an old game called Necro that was shaping nicely, but then was just gone.
Latest patch 10 days ago, a booth at PAX and 2 DLC's for free and a metric ton of Patches. There isn't a standard the developers could meet that would satisfy your fears. It's just a review you can edit later down the line if so inclined.
Go do it, show the world passion and effort is rewarded.
