Its a mission, Kronos come closer then the regular enemy and mission is over and need repeat. I turn on everything, and maximize the range
When the battle starts, check the map for friendly artillery positions (space bar to slow time in command mode, IIRC), Set them to the same settings as the one on your base.
Until later game, the Missile Silo is the only other base weapon I can think of, that can possibly hit Kronus. Maybe.
Another way to deal a lot of damage to Kronus, is by shooting his weak spots and destroying them.
Start with one of his legs...
A sniper build with extra damage/effects for weak point hits (like Piercing), will help a lot here.
Or just bullet hose him, with elemental ammo if possible.
if you 'must' use a twin 30mm against Kronus, then go tear one off of a turret, and use it by hand. Just mind the very slow movement speed. I'm not sure if it would be good or not with hitting weak points on Kronos.
*ponders if the same can be done with the CIWS gatling gun*
