2/ Jump and shoot the ground
3/ Attack AETOS directly in orbit

That, or use the Rocket XEN with a triple barrel to send yourself into the clouds. Bonus points for using the cooldown reset ability to redirect mid-flight.

It's the only way to get up on that huge crane holding huge barrel in that one location. The "intended way" there is purely rage inducing.

Ah, yes, the crane likely built and operated by sadomasochistic parkour ninjas.
I just grab the Keycard up there, and then I don't even bother with the console up there. Then I drop back down, and blast the wreck with twin 105mm artillery. (going to test Free Fire on Inferno with 2+ Battering Ram if I run into that mine site again with certain Operatives)

At least this topic lets me know of such a 'short cut' up there, that doesn't involve double jumps and/or mechanical claws to mitigate misjumps.

tbh the best thing I found to use on it was the RPG. I seem to destroy it and I always find a RPG on the map some place.

getting on top of the crane for a key card if you ask me is a waste of time. I got up there a few times but now I dont waste my time doing it.

The loot dropped by the crystal covered tower wreck, is based on the damage done to it, before it self destructs.
So if only 1 damage is done, it will still trigger the self destruct and explode after a few seconds, and very little will drop, and MGT will complain.

Shooting it with a twin 105mm tends to just explode it on the spot with about 20k (10k x2) and litter the area with ore and stuff, and one-shotting it like that tends to break the 'mission' and doesn't register it was destroyed, even though stuff is dropped.
My next test run will involve, if I can find a place to put it, a 1 ton cannon shell. Or three. (a.k.a., 406mm cruiser cannon).
IIRC, I've gotten 'ok' results using an explosive charge on it.
I've tried Scattershot with double Battering Ram a while back, but forget the results, but remember they were 'ok' results (only got 2 shots off before it self destructed).

From what I have heard, the crystal covered portions act as 'armor' of sorts and take less damage if hit in those spots, that it's better to try and shoot it where it's not covered by crystals.

There is almost always a loaded tank nearby and a shot or two from those seems to break them for me

It stays around long enough to take a 2nd shot? It normally disappears for me in about 1/2 a second. I normally do the RPG or the red drums. So I didnt know it stayed on the map longer. How long does it stay for?

I think the self destruct timer is for like 2-3 seconds, if its HP are not depleted fast enough.

With 'some' things just instantly destroying it, I don't know if that is due to the HP being depleted, or if there is some sort of damage threshold that simply causes it to be destroyed if X amount of damage is done with just a single hit.
Which is why I want to test it (if possible) using Free Fire with Inferno with 1+ Battering Ram.
Basically 'aim away', hold trigger until it us up to a high rate of fire, before then (hopefully) directing it at the tower.

Now that I have a Cruiser Cannon crammed on my outpost, (after omitting my Hellfire), with ~3k Core Outpost rating, it will be interesting to see if that will cause better loot drops than the twin 105mm.

One other thing to try. ripping the gun off of a CIWS, wedging myself in a place to deal with recoil, and see what that does to it.
