to sum it up preloaded autoloaders would hurt the game design of always being short on everything.
What I don't want to do is to manually bring and load everything every tour/mission.
e.g., add a storage box component or something that will increase the amount of stuff that can be automatically brought (fixed during planning) so that I don't have to dig through the stores every single time? (or make it another stats that can be increased by core power rating or something)
Or even just allow the backpack to have preset config or something.
I don't know if anybody likes transferring stuff between stores and backpack every mission, but I am not one of them. Esp when the main game loop is largely repeated grinding.
I make boxes from those and take a few with me on every tour. First location I actively explore, I pop the boxes and load up my autoloaders.
I guess I could sell off all those ammo boxes for gold after a tour. I think I am over 20 ammo packs in the warehouse. That's probably more than enough for a tour or three since I end up making ammo during the tours.
This is already what I am doing.
Now multiply this by 20 times for a session...
Even with a lot of Quicklooting, Snow 3 or 4 tour can take 3 or 4 hours to complete. But then I'm one of those people that pick up every bit of loot that I can in every game I play. Makes recovery day... challenging. ;)
Yeah the amount of ammo boxes I have in the Warehouse is insane...
Ah,, while we are at that, can be have a way to "favorite" items/equipment in backpack so that they don't get dumped into warehouse after a mission? Other than the ammo thing this is prob the 2nd most frequent thing I have to do after every mission, going to warehouse and drag back all the stuff I want to stay in the backpack....
I know grind is part of the game... but at least make it more bearable pls...
I second this! I like to keep one of each key type on my most used operatives. :)
It also doesn't remove everything from a tour. I'll have gold, and Other (the category) items in my backpack still, but Materials, Xen and Gear will be stored in the Warehouse.
While I am nowhere close to as good of a programmer as the people who made this game. I do have a basic understanding of programming. To save the ammo setting from mission to mission just required holding over the value from run to run the same as it is from each map. While wouldnt be very hard to do you can run into a ton of other problems and would require a complete change in the loot system. It would require alot of new code to do.
with that being said being able to load your base up before a mission. I liked the idea but if they they allowed that I would use that to bring extra loot back into every mission to clone Red items or to increase the gold amount. I would find a way to make the game way to easy for me. Which you allow you to by pass playing the maps. Most programmers want you to play their maps so I do not think that is something they would want to do.
Same and it became even worse once I've discovered the all-mighty bayonet, I hardly use any ammo anymore and just sell everything back at the base. :)
You can sell them back at the base for 8 gold each. If I do not have the resource for money event I will just make ammo to sell. 8 gold isnt much but it can add up fast plus you need to clear out the space anyways.
This brings new hope for this game. Hopefully the developers have something in the pipeline that will cause a nice resurgence of new players. It deserves more content.
Keep up the good work, developers!
This aged like fine milk
I stand by "By giving full loads of ammo it would make things go alot easier" and I did not think that was something they would change. I also Believe this does change the game design from a resource grind that it once was.
While most people like having pre loaded ammo I do not think I was wrong on most of what I said. I might be wrong on them having to program more levels part.
