Pre-load autoloader pls
After going on the N-th tour/battle, I ask myself:
Does it really take some black technology to load your outpost autoloaders BEFORE going onto field?
I have to try to carry as much rounds and ammo box as possible every time and spend the first 5 minutes or so trying to load the loaders with the pitiful amount of ammo I could carry.
And at the end of recovery day, I bring back a monster load of ammo/rounds that I will never finish using ever.

I know there were similar threads before. but why are they ignored?

Ammo being the big problem in limiting someone ability to last in most missions like siege. By limiting the ammo it makes the missions harder. By giving full loads of ammo it would make things go alot easier and allow you to last longer. By doing that they would have to do more programming for more levels. That means more work for them.

to sum it up preloaded autoloaders would hurt the game design of always being short on everything.

they can jolly well limit the amount of ammo to bring, though it is outright nonsensical.

What I don't want to do is to manually bring and load everything every tour/mission.

e.g., add a storage box component or something that will increase the amount of stuff that can be automatically brought (fixed during planning) so that I don't have to dig through the stores every single time? (or make it another stats that can be increased by core power rating or something)

Or even just allow the backpack to have preset config or something.

I don't know if anybody likes transferring stuff between stores and backpack every mission, but I am not one of them. Esp when the main game loop is largely repeated grinding.

Post tour, you get all the ammo boxes (and shells) that are stored in your autoloaders.

I make boxes from those and take a few with me on every tour. First location I actively explore, I pop the boxes and load up my autoloaders.

I guess I could sell off all those ammo boxes for gold after a tour. I think I am over 20 ammo packs in the warehouse. That's probably more than enough for a tour or three since I end up making ammo during the tours. :happy_yeti:

This is already what I am doing.
Now multiply this by 20 times for a session...

I hear ya, the grind is real. :)

Even with a lot of Quicklooting, Snow 3 or 4 tour can take 3 or 4 hours to complete. But then I'm one of those people that pick up every bit of loot that I can in every game I play. Makes recovery day... challenging. ;)

Yeah the amount of ammo boxes I have in the Warehouse is insane...

Let us have some "supply limit", where we are given a limit (which can be just backpack size even) to pre-supply components such as autoloaders and BE SAVED AS A PRESET. Can even make this limit increase somewhat with core power or something to add more incentive to core power. Ultimately, even if the amount of ammo is no different from what I can usually bring in backpack, at least it saves me the trouble of manual loading....

Ah,, while we are at that, can be have a way to "favorite" items/equipment in backpack so that they don't get dumped into warehouse after a mission? Other than the ammo thing this is prob the 2nd most frequent thing I have to do after every mission, going to warehouse and drag back all the stuff I want to stay in the backpack....

I know grind is part of the game... but at least make it more bearable pls...

I second this! I like to keep one of each key type on my most used operatives. :)

It also doesn't remove everything from a tour. I'll have gold, and Other (the category) items in my backpack still, but Materials, Xen and Gear will be stored in the Warehouse.

While I am nowhere close to as good of a programmer as the people who made this game. I do have a basic understanding of programming. To save the ammo setting from mission to mission just required holding over the value from run to run the same as it is from each map. While wouldnt be very hard to do you can run into a ton of other problems and would require a complete change in the loot system. It would require alot of new code to do.

with that being said being able to load your base up before a mission. I liked the idea but if they they allowed that I would use that to bring extra loot back into every mission to clone Red items or to increase the gold amount. I would find a way to make the game way to easy for me. Which you allow you to by pass playing the maps. Most programmers want you to play their maps so I do not think that is something they would want to do.

Same and it became even worse once I've discovered the all-mighty bayonet, I hardly use any ammo anymore and just sell everything back at the base. :)

You can sell them back at the base for 8 gold each. If I do not have the resource for money event I will just make ammo to sell. 8 gold isnt much but it can add up fast plus you need to clear out the space anyways.

dear devs, THANK YOU!!!!!
KarlThorsten89 Dec 19, 2024 @ 1:40pm
I am genuinely surprised the devs are still so active. I mean they're not 'that' active, but people asked for loading the autoloaders before a mission, and they almost instantly implemented it.
This brings new hope for this game. Hopefully the developers have something in the pipeline that will cause a nice resurgence of new players. It deserves more content.

Keep up the good work, developers!

I stand by "By giving full loads of ammo it would make things go alot easier" and I did not think that was something they would change. I also Believe this does change the game design from a resource grind that it once was.

While most people like having pre loaded ammo I do not think I was wrong on most of what I said. I might be wrong on them having to program more levels part.
