Anyways i would also love to know what a good build for a xen turret is.
Morph-Light Boost-4xdeconstruct2, 2xthrifty.
in my testing a single turret running this build will generate a bonus 147 or so materials compared to Morph-Light only, which means it's generating a free 47 materials after paying for itself although it has to be shooting mechanical enemies to do this.
Some other options I've used are
Morph-Radiance Boost 6xthrifty to increase the damage everything takes by I believe 15%
Morph-Re-configure Boost 6xadvanced to take control of tanks and use them as shields/extra damage.
take control of tanks. can you explain that alittle better?
I have been wondering if that would work for the longest time. I keep seeing it and thinking this would be a great way to get units to turn on each other then i thought no way they would allow that and its like reload or heal and has to target friendly. Its good to know that it does work on enemy units. Then again by the time i get a Xen turret the tanks only last for about 1 second on city ruin. really its a problem i dont even have time to take shots at them. So i dont know how useful it would be for me once i have the ability to use it.
Anyways thank you for informing me on this. RIght now i am working on a Xen that does 10,000 damage over an area and strikes 4 times and hits near by enemies. its only costs only 25 ammo. I need to find chain so i can compare the damage to each other to see if that is just standard damage or not.
Which makes me wonder, what would happen if I piled up multiple Damage/Elemental Entangles onto it... death by a thousand paper cuts?
I basically strait up copied my Heavy based 'sniper build' to a pair of Medium Xen turrets on the front corners of my base, stuff for doing extra damage to full/near full health enemies, medium priority for Medium and Large targets with Apostles at High priority.
Also toying with the idea of Grenade with Damage/Elemental Entangles and the one that pulls in nearby enemies if it hits an enemy, maybe also a radius increase, and slapping that on the Light Xen turrets, tweak the range to stagger their fire. (because Crowd con-Troll-ing is fun...)
When I get a Charged Xen Turret finally, I got Gravity and Gale I will likely test with it, 2 Advanced, something to increase radius, and Damage/Elemental Entangle in the rest of the slots (only got Oranges so far, I have yet to find a Red gun).
I tried it with the one 'pull' booster, had mixed results. Seemed to only 'trigger' the 'pull' on the initial hit.
The fun part about Gravity, is that it 'hits' enemies twice per second, and those 'hits', even though they only 'pull' and do no damage themselves, will trigger stuff like the Entangle(ment)s. I also found out when messing around during my testing of different Gravity builds, that it will even trigger Apex Predator and possibly also Elemental Hunter, without any other damage causing effects. As in it will trigger Apex Predator on 'every' tick. Even with just Apex Preadtor I, that's basically 8 Piercing per second, until the enemy is below 80% HP. Armor shredder, anyone?
A build I am possibly going to toy around with (even if just a 'test run' in Infinity Siege), is Gravity with Advanced, Light Strike, Elemental Entangle, Damage Entangle, Apex Predator I.
Gravity is also useful, when used alongside Warp, to grab items in out of the way places, like that fell through a floor, or under an obstacle, so you can 'pull' items to where Warp can 'grab' them.
When I finally get the Charged Xen Turret, I'll have to figure out what kind of build to try on it first (maybe 2x Damage Entangle, Entanglement State, Light Strike, Apex Predator, maybe set priorities for Apostle/bosses high priority, large size at medium priority, medium size at low priority)
Charging has better range than Heavy? Curious.
Because with needing Cruiser Cannon Barrels, I got the impression the Heavy Xen Turret would be a long range heavy hitter.
More so with it stating it gets an increased initial projectile velocity.
A related question. Do they use Ammo Boxes, or Shells?
For the Heavy Xen Turret, anyways, it seems like it would need Shells, considering you need Cruiser Cannon Barrels to make it.
i never thought about that. does it really make a differance?
