Spring Barrier ammo crafting/storage?

I researched upgrades that supposedly lets the spring barrier craft and store ammo boxes, but no where do I find the ability to actually do that in the game, either through physical interaction or the command view. is this a bug or have I just missed something?

it is for the combat barrier not the spring barrrier. once you build it you can pay some power to either activate a ammo maker or autoloader

The research wasn't for spring barrier but for combat barrier which is placed via the spike system, buildings placed in command mode like the titan spikes.

Oh I see I see. It uses the image of a spring barrier so that's probably why I didn't understand it was for the other kind of barrier.
