How does Chain Xen work?
No matter the weapon I put it on, I don't ever see it trigger twice. Am I misunderstanding what it's supposed to do?

Thanks!

so from my understanding, and its kinda hit or miss on some xens, when i fire my heavy skill xen with chain on it, it applies the second shot on the target immediately, so it technically doesnt fire off a second shot but applies a second shots worth of damage

So does this mean it's basically doubling the damage of every shot?

pretty much as if you have chain as the last mod in the list of other xen mods on the skill, it will apply everything before it to the target. From my testing at least thats what seems to be happening.

Intereeeeesting. I'll need to do some testing as well, thanks!

shooting range is a great place to test your xens before going out in the field. Also, on my heavy shot, it just ends up deleting everything with a chain in the last spot on my coregun. i will get a list of the xens i used for it if you want to see how i set mine up

Edit:
Heavy (Skill)
Condensed II
Mighty Swing II
March On II
Apex Predator II
Chain

Yeah, you'll see a second damage number pop up for each hit. I think there's also a circular "swing" effect around the target?

Just tested it, you're right, there's a swing effect when it procs.

chain boost xen basically adds another shot to the initial shot. so if your using a shotgun its like shooting it twice but instantly on first shot. Same with any other type of ballistic round. You can also stack them but it does increase the ammo required and the delay between shots. I've found putting more than 1 is a waste though as other boost xens stacking with it are usually better.

The shooting range is lame only because the bots are indestructable - they should react to the weapons damage the same as on the field?

Mine just stand there...

I want a shooting range where

There needs to be a better visual representation of the affects of xens and what your stack signature looks like... for example - if you are setting up the order of the xens on your slots - you should be able to see stats shift when you switch position of a xen in the stack?

Best way to see chain work visually is to put it on the splitter homing bullet XEN. Each chain spawns another set of homing bullets

Just curious... does chain work on the rearm morph? The one that reloads a turret?

I've been trying to get it to work with Fae's free shot ability to let me rearm turrets without needing to use ammo boxes.

Have had some really weird moments where I'll fire it off and it doesn't hit anything, even if I'm facing straight into the turret point blank.

the hitboxes for some turrets are JANK as ♥♥♥♥. i find that aiming at the baseplate of the turret, the legs the circle etc like what you'd see if you detached the gun, works best
