me in the promo vids.. Risk/reward management. Seems to be a big
part of the game.
The other day i was one shot by the boss while reloading a turret on the front-line, outpost itself was not in danger, several hours of looting just gone, thankfully the game keeps plenty of backup saves so i went back to start of recovery day and did it again.
where all you do is wander around and pick up free loot..
Makes you wonder why they buy games like this.
to be fair thats what this game is.
with the med bay letting you buy back dead characters, and how cheap the insurance mechanic is on gear items. there is no real risk of ever losing any items.
combine this with the drone and the power converter where you only need to chop down a couple trees to power the drone every round you can send your best pick of look back and never lose anything of value. the game from the outside view looks "high stakes" but its really as soft as it could be while saying death has any attached punishment.
Yeah, but, people still want a 'free lot" sim. 100% bet within a week
threads like "how do i remove the enemy" or, "how do i get the dev Test
codes" will start. I actually read a post in another forum where one
player stated they were "too afraid to play".. I mean.. It's just a game,
Your not going to get hurt and the only thing you really loose is a bit of time.
yeah theres also something to be said that they never really say you can talk to the doctor to get back killed solders, and insurance is never really talked about. so people aren't aware of these things, and people looking at buying won't know them at all.
Yeah, communication, or, lack of seems par for the course from game dev's
these days. I would have bought this already but i dislike the fact you can't
buy the base game and upgrade it. If you bought the original you need to pay
a LOT for a couple of guns and some skins.
I bought "the front" instead, very similar except no zones, you get to "free roam"
the map to grind what you need to build your base to defend against the waves..
It is really good for multiplayer as well.
You can also have your own dedicated server.. No hosting..
yeah honestly kinda wish i got the upgrade myself. not sure why i didn't. kinda sitting on buying a whole new copy and just giving the base game code away or reselling it to make most of the money back.
Its a progression in itself.

Its manual effort, but you can save yourself if bugs or crashes happen.
If you died a good death, you can decide to accept it, or if you died to something stupid like rag dolling out of bounds 1000 miles away from some bug you can reset it with a backup.
