How do you effectively beat Crius?

That would depend on what part of the battle is giving you issue. First and foremost, when in doubt raise your core power level, 99% of the time that helps immensely. If its strategy, personally I have a couple cwis on the front of my outpost and set them to have high priority for missiles, and use the heavy shot with multiplier augments for the range, and pop it in the weak-spots (usually turrets or big red eyes). I personally went overkill and had 3.2k core power, and the last unlock-able caraphact and just flew up and fought it in the air, but both ways work. Hope that helps some.

So unless your playing on 4 or 5 difficulty you should have the artillery spawns behide your base. Turn on auto-fire, switch them to direct fire and then change their configuration to only target massive enemies and to have max range. Do this with the rest of your artillery on your base (105mm and 406mm if you have it) and watch as Crius gets deleted when he flies by. Depending on core power or how much you buffed enemies it might take a pass or two. Bonus get exploration event which causes direct hits from artillery to be 100% increased.
