An easy way to get whatever you are looking for is to bring 2 THI cards, then on the first map, if you get the locked rooms with lots of lockers, go unlock them, find what you want? Great, send it up with a drone or keep in outpost or inventory then go to recovery day. Didnt get what you want? Dont end the map, instead exit to main menu, go back and try again with your keycards and lockers. Its kinda like save scumming in other games, but considering the drop rates can be so damn finiky it comes down to time/energy vs scruples/morals. As its not a competitive game with PvP elements, not many people will bash you or feel bad if you save scum. Just comes down to how you feel about those types of tactics in games.
Personally, I would do it if I had worse luck than I do. Another tactic thats less save scummy is to just go around and only loot materials you NEED. Mainly Legendary and Heroic (Orange/Red) and nothing else. It reduces the Recovery Day timer and limits issues while also still being quick. And if you use Drones to send back to base or carry on you for the larger items, you dont need to even worry if you fail recovery day.
You can get up to 4-6 ion batteries from crius if manage to destroy all his rocket launcher weakspots
I finally had to resort to killing him instead of jumping through the map. My "ship cannon" blew him up on his first pass over. I was trying to see if I could hit the weak points too to see if I could get more. But... he just crashed and burned.
I'll check out the gas station node for sure!
I've send a complaint about this before. I think they are trying to optimize him better because for me the swarm was crashing my game. I'm actually happy about it. Adding 1 action like going into command mode mode was too much each game. I don't have a super computer but that just shouldn't happen.
you can send it back to base by drone using 30 energy ( maybe turn some of them into power )
one tour i get lucky and get 2 nano processor. but when i finish recovery day i end up with 8 from all material card i pick.
emi and absolute defend is great because tank is easy to kill and not impact the difficulty of the map.
some of them will make enemy deal more damage but with enough fire power you should be able to at least evac from the map.
It's a tower def game, let me build my big cannons and turrets without having to grind an additional 100 hours+ to get a material that the devs decided abruptly wasn't going to drop as often for whatever reason. I've done multiple city runs, multiple times, on each difficulty 1 through 5 and only gotten like what 2??? Ion batteries in that entire time, and about 10 - 20 of everything else that is heroic, and that's WITH the risk/reward buffs that increase recovery amounts and value etc. Just seems like a massive bottle neck for no reason.
As I am yet another player who has tons of everything but ion bats, I ran this strat today across city 1 through 5 for 4-5 hours. Results as follows (no multipliers used):
1/ If you return to main screen, map doesn't change.
2/ If you return to main screen, from my experience, I suspect loot doesn't change either - just where it is on the map (including hidden lockers etc) - the exception being keycards. This needs more testing.
3/ City 1 and 2 yielded no reds for me after 25 passes each.
4/ I only did one pass of City 3 and 4, but same.
5/ City 5 yields reds using this method; I was able to farm over a dozen nano processors in c.40 passes. However, it yielded zero ion batteries. I even went to 3 nodes a pass instead of one on occasion, no ions.
TLDNR: Results point to this strategy either does not work for ion batteries (it does for other reds), or the drop chance is so low that it is simply an intentional grind wall. I hope that helps readers somehow and I hope the devs change this soon.
I had WAY more trouble to get the Nano Prozessors i needet.
Here is a very important tip for "farming" Heroics:
You go into the map, Scan an if there is no RED item you leave.
On the Worldmap "autoloot" the nongolden maps, only visit the ones that are golden.
Dont bother with opening "single" chests/lookers. Only move there if there are at least 4 in a place.
After the map ALWAYS chose the "increase x Valuable".
At the end ONLY (i really mean ONLY) add the Heroics to the extraction point YOU WANT TO DOUBLE.
My best run for Nano prozessors was 3 prozessors and left the xtraction with 12.
Same is possible with Ion Batteries :)
They need to "change" the reward system. It is stupid that a 250second extraction with "only" heroics is MUCH more valuable then a complete full run with 800 second extraction (well if you need Gold then thats a diffrent story)
