I'm in the late game... 1.25m Outpost - 12 cruisers, 12 hell fires and 12 dual artillery pieces on 3 layers. I tend to need to bring 30 ammo crates with me for the recovery, just to jump start the auto-ammo loaders because my guns are THIRSTY. I don't even see Kronos - he just dies.

So the challenge for me now is how to do things efficiently... and it seems wasteful to have Hell fires taking out scorpions... also 1 hell fire can only target 1 enemy... so to some degree there is reasons to consider other options for small enemy take down.

The question is, how do I tile as much fire power as possible in the smallest possible space and do that efficiently. There is the problems with Turret height - It's wasteful to have a row of Hell fires but nothing underneath them. It's possible to have CIWS under a Hellfire and then a pyro turret under the the CIWS.

Has anyone got some cool gun combinations, that pack the most firepower and number of muzzles in the smallest amount of utility tiles?

What are you doing with your weapon ranges? I'm only getting into City maps but have found that setting guns to be 100 or 200 different in range helps a great deal as then one or two turrets handle the bulk of the work on junk mobs and if something gets closer it gets hit with more guns. (This would be great if we could type a range into the box instead of using a slider though...)

You can also contribute to this with priority and setting some to focus on different levels of mobs as priority instead of all the same.
I do have to "prime" my auto-loaders with ammo crates to start out, but my auto feeder ammo systems can cope after that - therefore I don't have reason to limit my range or priorities at the moment. Obviously I only set the artillery to only take out large and massive targets. I'm more trying to get the most damage per muzzle out of each tile at this point.

Someone wrote a post a while back and said we needed more turrets, and someone responded there were plenty... but there are so many more ideas I think... especially given most guns jump from 1 tile in size to 4 or 6... need some things in between, and perhaps some scatter shooters.
