Resource Generating Components
Does anyone else feel like the mid to late game grind would be a lot more bearable with some outpost components that provided a small trickle of materials and power. Materials get solved somewhat with missiles late game, but power seems annoyance until your max power can sustain you through a whole tour.

For the power side of things, I feel slapping a couple of solar panels on the top of your outpost instead of having to stuff the inside with battery packs would be nice alternative. I also feel it would help from having to grab items I know I don't need just to bring back and stuff in the converter for more power, or spend time chopping trees down to turn back into power. Overall I just want a smoother time in tours not doing a bunch of upkeep on the base I have sunk so many materials into.

For material generation I originally thought miners would the solution, I mean who else saw the miner tech and was excited to not have to grind so much. Only to be disappointed when the miner range was so small, cant be relocated, and only harvested the materials available on the map. As well as not able to move onto the next map unless they are attached to the outpost, which makes them useless. Maybe changing the miners to be able to generate some level of ores or scrap around them when they have nothing in range to mine, or have some other resource generating structure to work with them.

I feel I would actually use the guardians during tours and more in recovery days if I had a steam of materials coming in and I could replace my loses. As well as heavily invest into them during a recovery day. Imagine having a flank get crushed and you had 10-15 guardian factories you could quickly produce a force to stop the leak, instead of having to go over yourself. Make more use of the RTS style of game-play during recovery days.

Maybe this breaks some balancing for the endless modes. If so maybe make them tour only components?

Let me know your thoughts, I want to know if I am the only one wanting to have these.

Miners can be moved. You can make them explode in command mode and build new one in new spot. You should build them next to huge wrecks. 100 materials cost, but you get 300.
Or just make a Light Xen with several battering rams Xen modifiers and 1-2 shot wrecks. On some maps it allows you to get thousands of materials almost instantly.
For example in the city recovery day map there are 8+ huge wrecks around the base.
With just 2 battering ram Xen modifiers Light Xen hit doors for over 20000. You won't need cards or lockpicks anymore.
If you don't want to waste a slot in your core gun for it, just make seperate core gun with support Xens. It is a bit annoying that after each tour you need to move that second gun from warehouse to backpack, but benefits compensate that.

Everything you listed is what I am trying to say I am tired of. I don't want to have to micromanage my miners in the mid game, finding good spots to place them each map. Or spend time running around with a specific core gun to gather wrecks around the map. After 50+ hours of grinding I would like to reduce the burden of micromanaging your materials/power. I also recommend using the missile silos for clearing wreaks, you get full value and its faster and still resource positive to just launch a missile at it.
Does destroying it (missile or gun) still get the bonuses from the 30% more cards?

One-shot any wreck you walk by for 300 material / 10-20 ammo.

Energy: Throw stuff you don't need into the energy converter.
Things like Cannon Nexus Cataphract Cores or low rarety gear.

Like I said in my post, its not that I don't know how to generate these resources in the current game. Its more that I am tired of mechanics themselves. I was hoping the endgame turned more into a tower defense/ RTS style. I was trying to see if anyone else had similar thoughts.
Honestly yeah. I first thought about miners the same and was hoping to get something akin to them but for power, maybe 1 power per 60 seconds or something to balance things a bit. Shame that that was not the case, plus miners are... well, good, but they are more akin to extractors from their function than miners.

My other hope was that energy/materials converters would do something passively if there's more than one installed. It was not the case as well, you straight up don't need more of them.

Really hope that something would be added to passively gain resources.

I realize you want unlimited resources without doing anything. Might as well imagine all your utility tiles are solar panels and use cheat engine to give yourself unlimited energy.
I don't think the game need changes you described as there are mechanics to deal with this problem.

It's easier in the way of not needing a slot on your gun configured for that material collection. All wreaks spawn in the same places on the map, so I can just hit M and quickly hit every important wreak spawn by just clicking on it. clears the map in about 10-15 seconds. And the material cost is immediately refunded, The power cost is again negligible at this stage of the game by throwing some items into the converter.

As I stated in the thread topic I would like outpost components (Most likely legendary or heroic) that would be very expensive and have a large upfront cost and upkeep. To change the focus from the FPS looting style, to a more Tower defense/ RTS focus.

I understand people like the current game loop. I like it myself. However I found it started becoming cumbersome later on into the game, and thought the endgame would be different.
I usually just use a ranger for gathering resouces, you can shoot down any wreckage and tree in few seconds with basically no cost
