I dont understand how beat Winter 1 map.
This is some kind of nonsense. 10 minutes of attacks in a row. No stops, no breaks, nothing. 10 minutes of constant attacks. From 3 directions. Enemies drop reinforcements right in front of the defensive line, almost point blank. Due to the broken terrain, the enemy begins to shoot at the turrets before they shoot at the enemy. I have to permanently defend the lake. At the same time, there is no one at the base.

I don’t understand how I have to manage everywhere at the same time. Hit with artillery and build, replenish supplies and shoot at the front line.

And now lose 2nd time. 4h in ass , - all gear. It's a pity can't refund. This is the most idiotic base defense I've ever seen (and this is an achievement, considering mobile projects).

Basically your role in the extraction is to supply your base turrets with ammo and building the defence in the free time. Noone asks you to be *on the front line*. And all the rocket tanks there BECAUSE of the *broken* terrain are in the Smart Mortairs range.

Not even telling that you can Alt-F4 if things getting hot and just restart extraction day, untill you get used or manage to survive *somehow*.

Minibosses also attacking closest structure, so if you put something between them and your base they will attack it first. If you have hard time with them still - there is an operational tank near the house with 3 cannon shots also.

I wish you manage it to the City Ruins to see the next topic tho XD

You need to stop playing the FPS part and go into command mode. (Press M IIRC).

Ensure your base has enough ammo generators etc to maintain. If you are (likely) still on manual autoloaders, ensure you can click on them easily and the target ammo generators from command mode to grab ammo boxes. The non-solid floor tiles help here (sorry I can't log in atm due to the latest patch ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ my game completely, so I cant remember what the tile name is, but its the mesh style one). Winter 1 is easy mode in comparison to what you will be facing late game.

Use deployables (especially the barriers) to ensure the waves focus on those first. Replace as needed and if soloing, press space to go into bullet mode if needed.

Your main mistake is that you are thinking you need to FPS everything; by Winter 1 you should be commanding, not FPSing.

Other than that it is about building a good base - plenty of other threads cover this with both examples of mine and much bigger endgame bases (and indeed, fun and cool looking ones too).

Best of luck!

Don't max out snow 1 immediately, for sure. Baby steps. Do 300seconds or less if you need to. Use the artillery on the map to clear swarms, or to take out tanks.

Most common "mistake" is not boosting your core power.
Core power increases the damage your turrets deal amongst other things.
More damage means less ammo consumption.

Next, you only get enemy spawns from the flanks if your frontline falls.
If you keep the first promethean core standing you won't get attacked from anywhere else but the front.

Craft some ammo before the extraction day.
Get an engineering helmet for more ammo per box and no wasteage from rearming to early.

Snow 1 can be held by 3 MG turrets and 3-4 30mm.
Remember to set the targeting on your turrets correctly.
Set the range to max on everything.
30mm should not target small and highest priority on large.

If it is still to much to handle, consider taking only the blueprints and get yourself some upgrades crafted.
Even if you are missing the materials to build 30mm twin barrels, upgrading a small artillery formation to 30mm twin barrel only costs 40 energy.

The apostle will spawn pretty much infront of the second promethean tower.
pre aim the broken tanks in that direction so you can just hop in when they spawn and fire at them.

You could also set up one of the free artillery pieces to direct fire at large and limit its range so it won't reach all the way to the shore to help with the apostle.

These two are the key to extraction day on the snow map.

if you can keep the frontline standing you're personally powerful enough that you need to be amping the difficulty. which is definitely not where op is

Game gives you 5 Titan Spikes right from the rip. It does a horrible job of explaining what they are and how to use them. During your exploration days spend the 100 mats to build the Titan spike ON your base then put it in charge mode. This will boost your core power by 20 each for a total of 100 points. That's 10% increased turret damage, bigger X-Field(mining field), and all the other goodies that come with boosted core power. You build on your base because then you take them with you map to map. By recovery day they've paid for themselves if you enter maps along the way.

your base needs to be at least 60 in order to beat lvl 1 snow. That is rough but it is doable at 60. is a lot easier.

Do watch out, though. Sometimes, they can bug out and disappear, and you will have to build all of them again.

I've never experienced it, I haven't heard it mentioned in my friend group, and I've only ever seen it mentioned once or twice. I don't think it's a big enough issue to warrant worrying about it, especially the initial 5. I'd be interested in knowing how many Titan Spikes people have on their base to experience this as I've seen streamers do 30+ and have done 30+ myself with no issues.

38 xD
Monstreek May 3, 2024 @ 12:56am
Difference between 38 and 60 core power is 2.2% increased damage. Even difference between 0 and 100 is barely noticable.
It is likely the main issue is the tanks that outrange your turrets.
Either kill them yourself, or get turrets with longer range. 30mm turrets can reach tanks most of the time, unless they hide behind terrain. In snow recovery map they can hide behind the hill.
Some people use mortars for that, but I find them pretty much useless because of low damage and slow rate of fire.
Once you get at least one CIWS you can shoot down missiles and issues with tanks will be gone.

If you can get yourself a 100% DMG boost (fusion warhead) for the Artillery, its a peace of cake. On the big lab map, there are plenty of Artillery rounds, just take them in a mule and get in the tank at the last map, one hit every drop ship and dont even care about other things like the little scorpions that even a few mg turrets can take care off

while able to clear the mission the frontlines dont work at all , basically says something is blocking it no mater where me or my friend stand , both of us have tried it solo and had the same thing happen makes the mission so much harder
