The game is totaly playable solo, it actualy look like it was always planed as a solo game and the multi was added quite late into developpement.
That seems boring if I'm on solo. By present standard, I should have at least my squadmates, having 6 men would be fun. Also I checked the review on all weapons, the same carbine rifle able to modify barrel to become high caliber machine gun, heavy sniper rifle, rocket launcher, phaser, grenade launcher is just too ridiculous. Developer should remove this and come up with few different guns.
I don't mind about ending as long as they give me my AI NPC squadmate and more AI NPC civilians that I can interact, help and save. Also get more firearms instead of just the same carbine rifle that can be modified into too many types of guns which doesn't make sense. Also the RPG doesn't really propel the anti-tank warhead grenade missing animation is just too bad. If these are available, I'll buy.
Never played Vanquish I see.
Why?
The gun play is great.
The ability to customise your gun load-out is great and its a HUGE part of the game getting and crafting parts and modifiers to make the gun that fits your style.
However, there will come a point in your progression at early endgame where it would be better to multiplayer and get the rare resources you need, as you currently can't buy those in the random shop. Apparently however, they are fixing this next patch and on test server the shop does now stock them.
So all in all, if you like base building, TD and looters, then this is a game for you that is fine solo. If your here for the FPS and story, pass for now.
use snipers. until you have the cruiser guns that can absolutely destroy kronos and crius in a few volleys(max range and prio to massive, everything else to off), you have to rely on long range sniping to kill them reliably.
so yes its doable solo without being a clown(cheaters on pve games). but the grind is way too real.
Developer should look into how present and future concept military guns, weapons and equipment work, only then they will be able to come up with great and realistic guns, mech, tanks, gunship, VTOL fighter, exosuit, etc.
Yes, the game looks great but numbers of things developer need to add in order to make this game great. Only then I will buy even if it's still in early access. Need more AI NPC friendlies, soldiers squad, drones, Chapie & Elysium style droids robot, exosuits, realistic sci-fi guns, portable launchers and civilians that I can interact, chat, build relationship with some story line.
Game already has drones, mech's and Guardian robots.
But your judging a book by its cover and not its content.
Your feedback would have more value if you actually played it, and played it enough to reach the city ruins, and the game opens up slowly so as not to overwhelm people with the massive number of mechanics and base/crew management systems.
the newer COD after MW3 are really bad games. I expect this Outpost to give us something that new COD Infinite Warfare failed to give us. When there's laser and phaser technology in Outpost Infinity Siege, why is the Soviet era RPG in this game? You cannot interchange bolt action barrel gun with receiver + charging handle of with phaser/laser barrel on the same receiver because they are 2 totally different thing that runs on different system.
AI has driven humanity into the ground, the human technology depends on when and what era technology human had before the AI machines revolt against creator. Terminator took place when human had laser PPC gun with gyroscope gravity drive technology able to create advanced VTOL but not yet able to create starfighter. Battlestar Galactica took place when human had spaceships and starfighters during Cylon rebellion.
