Suggestion for New Goalie Controls - Left Stick limited movement in Crease, Left Stick + A normal movement.
Its obvious after playing net for about 4 hours now that there are two main issues.
- Movement is far too sensitive. To go from post to post you can't even put the analog stick fully to one side. Instead you have to feather it a tiny amount. This also means that even when I can see my goalie, I can't focus my attention on the opposing player with the puck. I basically have to stare at my own goalie
- Its hard to tell where you are in the net when the camera isn't directly on the goalie. This combined with the sensitive movement means trying to square up to an opposing player is basically hopeless. You tap the stick a little bit to the left and up to square up and you likely are way outside of the net.

To solve both these issues I propose the following control scheme.

Moving the left stick on its own limits the goalie to an area just beyond the crease and the position of the left stick, is the position of the goalie with respect to the net. Imagine an opposing player is streaking down the left wall near the red line. With this control scheme I would hold the left stick all the way up and too the left, since I want to the goalie to be all the way out of his net. I would hold the stick there until the player gets closer. Even without the camera on me I would know exactly where my goalie is. Also now even when the goalie is visible in the camera, because I can now feel where my goalie is (based on the position of my left stick), I can focus on the player who has the puck and can think about which of the 4 saves I wish to make. Basically this takes lots of ambiguity out of the goalie position and allows you to focus on the saves.

Now if you want the goalie to leave the net to get the puck in the corner. You hold A (on xbox) or another button, and the goalie limit to the crease is removed and the goalie moves at full speed.
