Tips to beat the ref team ?

Hey I'm loving this game but I struggle against the referees, I can't seem to score consistently on their goalie and they will always find a way to rekt me.

I'm still early on so my Angus is kinda bad, I'm not sure what's a good champion to take

The refs are a pretty big skill check, constantly check them and pass pass pass. Takes a few tries, but once you understand that you are never getting the puck on a face off and play really defensively then you start to see their gaps.

Keep em on the ground. Keep body checking them into oblivion. They wanna cheat? Eat ice!

Just keep playing and you will dominate them soon enough. They aren't all that great and yeah, they do cheat and will set you back a goal and likely even give themselves a goal, but once you get the hang of the game, they are quite easy to beat.

Don't bother trying to win faceoffs, instead check right off the faceoff and you'll knock down either their center or the official who will play against you anyways. If one of them is always laying on the ice, the match becomes much easier.

I find the easiest way to play refs is, hopefully have a ref perk, meaning ref checks opposite team, in which case the refs team is a null, you won't get checked. Also easiest way to check refs of face off, is to battle for the puck 1 to 2 times then when he drops it its easier to check them both center and ref. Also if you don't have a ref perk it's nice to call the goal off perk so u can even it up when they mKe their cheating goal. Otherwise, just keep checking, and move the puck around.

Really tho no matter what you do, if the game choose the refs to win, they can't be stopped. Not so much since the update. This goes for the Lettuce team if they are the second team. They cheeeeeaaaatttt. Usually if I play them in second stadium, you can count on starting over.

It's OK to start over, easy pucks at the start.

There is only 1 way for a fair faceoff vs refs. It's the always win face off perk, as this will just null out both teams and you will have a fair chance.

I just scored my 3rd goal against the Refs and they gave it to the other team. So it's 2-2, instead of 3-1. I ended up losing.

Not sure if this is a bug or the "Refs" being a boss and handing the goal to the other team, but I haven't heard of it happening to anyone else. It's infuriating.

I found the trick to beating the refs is really levelling up your attributes. That game felt impossible before, but now I'm level 5 speed, level 4 accuracy and level 3 shot power, it's pretty easy now.

The Refs can't cheat if you hurl them down onto the ice like the scum they are.

Traits like the one that knocks the entire team down if you shoot at the goal are very useful for putting pressure on the goalie.

Also, never let them near your net, they'll take any chance they can to cheat.

But mainly, never stop the Ref violence

Put a big guy as centre and knock down the actual ref at the face-off. Keep knocking him down. He plants in front of your net and clears out your defense. He's their biggest asset. I think he can't call back goals when knocked down as well.

Also, try a centre with the farting perk and send the puck down the ice every faceoff.
