multiplayer would be for pvp which if your friend can pick any team to play on, it wouldn't really be necessary anyways.
We will definitely look into the option to bring online multiplayer but that requires quite some time, especially being a small dev team. BUT, definitely in the plans!
It's an early access game, give it time !
Remote play for the client is always going to be consumed by lag due to its architecture. Horrible input lag just does not bode well for action oriented games. Strategy or turned based games it works great though.
I want to play Hockey against other players, I cant do that so why would I buy it?
I'm not complaining just saying its not for me till it has this feature.
