Like I said, it's just unacceptable to demand something of the player which does not yet exist in the game. I left a negative review explaining that, and I will dutifully report back in a year or so when they get the basics of the game implemented.
Thanks for the assist by the way, I spent way too much time trying to find something that doesn't exist, and you spared me of future troubles with that task!
Take care, all!~
From your screenshot it looks like you slept through the night, given that the "Setting up camp" objective is complete. Do you remember how you slept in the game? You would have either had to sleep on the bedroll or use a "sleep on the ground" action.
One thing that I can think of that happened is you accidentally dropped the bedroll somewhere.
Since I'm out at work currently, I decided to launch it up on my Steam Deck during my lunch break. The save from my desktop wasn't showing up, which is not a big deal considering I never really made it very far in the first place, so I started a new game, and there it is in my inventory. I would never have missed it. Maybe it just bugged out for that playthrough, and I got the bad luck of a first impression that way.
I will adjust my rating back to positive as soon as I get home, but I would genuinely be curious to know why the option to simply make one does not exist?
Surely bunches of people misplace theirs or lose it, or in weird and rare circumstances, possibly are missing it on launch.
Any plans on making it a craftable item?
Updated my review to be positive by the way.
But it is for sure on my list as I know it's not an ideal setup right now (hence me adding the "lie down on the ground" while back for cases where a bedroll is lost temporarily or permanently). I appreciate your feedback and your patience with the game as it grows! Thanks!
Anywho, glad this got cleared up, and thanks for all your hard work, dev. You've got a really cool game forming here.
In single player the only option, since there is no lootbag (I think so, at least it's unfindable/unmarked), is to start a new game, if this happened in a coop, where your friend hosts and you join, then wellcome, you're f*ed. Maybe it's in the hosts save and helps when your host creates a new game, but in my case he already had a lot of time played to dump it.
