The Last Plague: Blight

The Last Plague: Blight

Can't build support beams.
I've tried building them, but whenever i hover over the placed beams, no option to build them is available to me. I've tried different locations, as flat as possible, sloped etc... No bueno. Even tried snapping every medium pole but i just can't do anything other than place them. I cannot buiild them after placing them! What am i supposed to do? is it broken?

when you place a new post are you making sure that the posts you are going to attach to are turning green? This indicates they are close enough to attach support beams to.

How far apart are they ?
Usually (using the grid) posts cannot be more than 5 steps away from each other.
If you level the ground, so that both posts are on exactly the same height it will be 6 steps.
Maybe... do you have a hammer ? Is the material full ?
You should see some ghosted, green lines between the posts when you engage the support beam option.

The lines (for the supports) are ghosted green yeah. Do i need a hammer? The tutorial steps never mentioned a hammer, i'm pretty sure. This is the first steps of making a shelter, so i don't have a hammer or any way to level ground.

All the posts are within each other's reach, meaning they're green and indicating that the placement is within the limitations.

This is the demo i'm playing btw, i'm starting to think it's a bug at this point or at the very least a missing piece of text/step. The materials are full yeah. i added them all (long sticks and rope).

A small stone counts as a hammer.
Pink Guy, une fois les poutres porteuses placées (en vert), as tu bien fait "echap" ?

what??

a Hammer is not required for Support Beams, just a Long Stick and 2 Plant Ropes

I've just realized that you've probably placed them out of reach for you to automatically add the components of the build and you have to add the items. When you examine the Support Beam you should see a slot for a Long Stick and 2 Plant Ropes. Make sure those say 1/1 and 2/2 respectively?
For some constructions like beams, roofs, floors, there is a "construction menu" that opens, which allows you to place several in a row. You must then exit with "esc" then click again on the elements in green to complete the missing materials and finalize the construction.

I was standing close enough, but i think it was bugged out because as i loaded in the game the next time and tried to do this whole thing again everything suddenly worked flawlessly.

Thank you very much for the help anyway

When i logged in again some time later and started the process again it suddenly just worked flawlessly, so i'm not sure what could've caused it not to work earlier. I'm suspecting bugs, but who knows maybe i didn't press Esc "correctly".

Thank you very much for the help anyway!

j'ai souvent rencontré des bugs de construction après ~ 2h de jeu en continu
