It's an early exes game, it's missing so many mechanics etc and then questions like that. That's so unimportant
Okay? You are doing a lot of assuming and speculation. Some people like to play single player just like you like to play with friends. Doesn’t mean they don’t have friends or play games with them.
I also personally want dedicated servers since I've set up a couple Linux boxes and am hosting a bunch of games. But just because someone feels their wants are more important than anything and act like an entitled jerk doesn’t mean a game needs any specific thing that person wants. There are a lot of things that go into games, a lot of moving parts, some of those are easier than others to implement, and the importance of those features is not your decision. ESPECIALLY in an early access game.
First of all, the game is being developed by an indie company, meaning small amount of people, small amount of funds, and things take longer to accomplish. And as far as I can tell from their website and a few other sources, there is literally just one developer. Maybe there are a couple more developers now that it’s picking up some traction, but there is no proof of this that I can find.
Second, the game at first wasn’t intended or started as co-op/multiplayer as you can see by their first post:
“I’m finally proud to publicly announce the title I’ve been working on! Blight is a brutally challenging and realistic single-player top-down perspective survival game releasing on Steam Early Access first half of 2022…”
See right there where it says “single-player”? So, no, it shouldn’t have been released with dedicated servers already implemented. Here is an awesome small-time dev that is taking peoples feedback and requests and deciding to change things that he originally planned to do to make the game more complicated to make because fans want to see it, and you act like a child because your feature wasn’t first. Wild.
Third, who the ♥♥♥♥ are you to tell anyone what their game should include at any point in time, release, pre-release, or otherwise? ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ wild that you people could be so entitled and then be such a ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ to someone in your entitled responses. Clowns.
