Report a translation problem
In fact, you dont even need the poles, just put the floor on the ground and get your shovel out to do the digging. When done, remove the floor and the ground is flat.
But be carefull, since the game has still ways to go. Had one of my flattened grounds revert back which wasnt a great thing:

So it might still be good to use one pole to separate two areas of flattening, just in case one of them revert back after re-entering the game.
So long story short: Using the shovel/floor way to get the ground flat is the fastest only way as far as i knew.
