The Last Plague: Blight

The Last Plague: Blight

Next storyline part.
Hi all. Is there at least an approximate release date for the final part of the storyline? I'm almost on my 50th game day of playing and the plague is spreading like a prairie fire. It's very frustrating removing the green mist by inches while it grows by meters at the other end of the camp. At this stage, the game is no longer fun at all.
I was commenting in another thread that I would really like a mod of the game completely plague-free. Just peaceful building, exploring, hunting (fishing). The current frustration confirms me in this opinion.

Correct. I wrote a whole essay about it if you want to pick up some pointers :)

Nice work!

Especially this note, which I think kills any desire for me to live off the grid... No rivers or metal nodes. Boo

These are all things you won't see outside the known world:
Rivers and roads — notice how those in the known world just end abruptly at the edge of the map
Swamps
Blight clouds (but those near the edge of the map can grow past it)
Metal nodes (but flint and sandstone do occur)
Cliff faces, rocky outcrops and caves

Surviving after 40 days, what am I supposed to do in a world like this? You can also keep blight away from your camp. This is not the problem. But what should you do if you run out of slime oil and you can no longer decontaminate also the food?
"Blight storms still occur and the fauna and flora is still contaminated."
Fauna and flora is still contaminated and it becomes worse everyday. I even saw contaminated animals with 65 %.
You cannot get slime anymore. It doesn' t respawn and in late game there are everywhere clouds. You cannot reach the swamp even.

Hm interesting....

I've been to swamp collecting slime on day 33. Haven't noticed blight clouds were any bigger. Clouds outside swamp, yes. So I guess it's also RNG luck on clouds spawn pattern outside swamp. But there should usually be multiple swamp areas so should be doable late game as per my example.

Also a neat trick I learned (while I'm digressing) - Turn on "Quick pickup" in gameplay options (I dislike it in normal gameplay) to minimize blight exposure while collecting slime.

Start another playthrough or wait until more content is added so that you can progress the story before the Blight becomes unbeatable?

I’m 35 days in (on Easier) and not much has changed for me chilling outside the map. I see the Blight has gained ground when I pass through the mapped area, but that’s somebody else’s problem ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

yeah it needs a no blight mode, surviving is hard and precarious enough on its own. Also I would like to see a little bit more variety and a few rare items. Other than that and the slow loading of scenery, it has been really good

Im trying to work out if Ive done everything there is or not.

I collected the silver and got a letter with new recipes and was then told to wait for the next letter.
Im on day 45 now and seem to have been waiting for ages for the next letter- I was starting to think I needed to check other campfires but now Im wondering if I have reached the end of what is currently in the game.

Yes, you are right, we have to wait for the next part of the story when the developer adds it to the game.

I would also like to to play without the spread of blight, with more focus on building, trapping, hunting, and natural enemies
having a blightless game as an option would be great indeed, or at least to negate the spreading rate.
Yeah or even buff the AoE for the burn piles so that one pile can eradicate a large area of blight.

thats definitely in the plan, but as for the early access i would love to make a big farm without worrying about the blight
