Long sticks crafting

OK i will not buy this game due to the grind for long sticks! why do i have to de forest the whole planet to get 2 if im lucky from 1 tree?

Come on let us craft long sticks from logs or some thing this is just far to grindy for them when it dont make sense.

Gutted as this game is right up my street but had to stop playing as i now need to find 14 long sticks! na dont think so and turned game off.

Yeah it's not ideal right now, sorry about that. As mentioned in the discord chat, going to be addressing this balance issue in the next update!

While I agree trees could give more, you can just roam and pick them up from the ground, much better than chopping if that is all you need.

Yeah, I've been finding ~plenty of long sticks just going through the woods. Comparatively, short sticks have been more of a rarity so far. Since you can chop long ones into short ones, that helps, though (but since I need lots of both I'm still compulsively collecting them all).

Should be many more sticks and long sticks in the recently released update (v0.6.6). You'd need to explore new land in your current save or start a new game. Hope it helps!

I had a problem with Long Sticks when I first started the Demo and wrote something similar. However, on my next game I was near woods and my god the abundance of Long Sticks was incredible. I haven't checked since the latest patch but what I recommend is, before you start building your camp, try to find woods and fill your inventory up with them.
That being said, I do wish the Stockpile would hold more than the current 30-something

Really depends where you spawn to what the main resource is in that area, as in real life. Would not expect to find many sticks in a quarry or much stone in a forest. Just have to travel around a bit to find what you are looking for. Balance seems pretty decent in my opinion.

Simple solution. Make the DEFAULT action for chopping Thin Fallen Trees split into 4 long sticks. That way people have a way to engineer long sticks if they can't find them on the ground.
