How to remove rust?

I searched discord,other player said maybe can use sand?

And can i sharp pickaxe?The only thing I think i dont make is steel anvil(cost too much steel)

And where is the swamp?I follow the quest,he marked follower of the d flame,and want me go to swamp,but i cant find swamp near the mark point,only a bedroll and sth

Meat jerk now add 3 pollute and recover 5 hunger,can i add something in jerk to decrease the pollute?
I mean,maybe 3 pollute for 5 hunger is too much...

No way to remove rust for now. I plan on building some rust-protection techniques in the future like animal fat and dipping the steel into a vat of molten tin. But I'm already working on a way to smelt down the steel tools back into chunks of steel to be able to be re-forged to remove things like rust and low condition.

Mouse over the various parts on the map, it will show a "Swamp" label when you mouse over it. There should be around 10 or so swamps in the map, look for darker circular areas with what looks like water/tall grass icons

That was an oversight before, I forgot to make it so the smoking process still preserves contamination. And right now it's set up to be more or less equal to the cooked coyote or wolf meat the meat strips come from. But I'm working on toning it down further for the jerky in the next update. Stay tuned!

EDIT:I searched marked place,and some village,but cant find Elric.Where to meet him to complete the quest?

RUST is a mofo xD
I am dealing with rust in real life.
Once it grabs and have time it will make stuff unuseable and need to replace part or whole thing.

I agree that prevention is the best tool to fight with rust. Trust me I know what I am talking about in terms of rust, I dealt with rusted things and if treated early, stuff can be saved. Otherwise say godbye to your steel stuff :D
