I don't get how to do the free trial or how to play via ads

I have created my account, verified the email, etc.

I see nothing in the interface about earning gems via ads. If I click the gems, it only shows me an option to buy a subscription.

All games I look at only have a "Play on Premium" option.

It seems the "free" thing still requires that I sign up for a subscription, but won't be charged if I cancel the subscription within a time limit (3 days for a monthly subscription, 1 week for a year sub).

This isn't matching what I was told or what I've been reading here. I'm not giving them my CC info just to try a short free trial with the option to cancel. I want the trial BEFORE I give them my CC info.

What am I missing here, or is this as predatory as it seems?
