iirc it's 30 gems for every time you launch a game. You can play it as much as you want without paying again as long as you don't switch games

Also you can get a monthly/yearly premium subscription that removes said gem cost

EPIC will be giving out a 1090 coin pack for free soon. Essentially it's an old school Arcade from the mall which you can use from home. I'm looking through the library and they have a lot of classic games.

I read there is a $9.99 monthly subscription option in some pre-review sites. But I don't see this in epic store.

I downloaded antstream from the official site 2 months ago, all the games are unlocked,there is no spam at all, no need premium accounts, nothing..lol

Like most f2p models gems are rewarded for things. Logging in earns some, and the amount you get daily goes up with rank. Winning challenges and tournaments earns them.

I subscribed on Epic for Christmas since it was only $20 for a year. The downside to that is Epic accounts don't work on other platforms, so if you are going multiplatform subscriptions are more expensive. At rank 190 I'm getting 299 gems for logging in (some of those are from the subscription, but most of that is my rank). On Android I am rank 60 which isn't hard to reach, and I have no subscription. I get 120 gems for logging in. It's 30 gems for one play session (there are different costs for challenges and tournaments though). You can burn through gems fast doing challenges, but otherwise the daily gem reward is enough to play often, especially with a little effort to rank up and log in whether you play or not.

They ran a promotion on Facebook for a while where this was the case. I don't think it is still. I still have the 30 gems per game cost if I login using the PC client from their website. People on Facebook who make a new account from that promo link often bring up the 30 gems cost. I think what you have is the free premium account from that promo. I suspect that expires in a year from the time you joined, but I'm not 100% sure on that.

Premium is anther thing. You're going to sit there as a developer or publisher and tell me that even if after dropping $40, that I still only have limited time access to all games? I'm sorry, but $40 is where you should have full, unrestricted access to a game(s)....you should own it and it should be permanently tied to your library/account.

Nobody is going to sell you 1,287 games for that much. Just like Netflix, they are licensed to stream these games.

However, premium does give you full access to all the games. At that point the gems you get are for PvP or for when you are no longer premium.

Imagine if Netflix, Hulu, Amazon Prime, etc. let you watch movies for free by an in-app currency (gems) so you didn't have to subscribe unless you wanted unlimited access. That's basically what is happening here. They can't sell you the games. They haven't been licensed for that.

Guys... Antstream is free. You pay gems to play games like in an arcade.

In the non-epic versions of Antstream you can simply watch a short advertisement to get 50 gems - as far as I can tell you can do this unlimitedly.

The Steam version may be different, like Epic is... but for everything else you basically get to play as much as you want for watching some advertisements.
