Absolute cinema. Ngl I pirated this game but not buying this is basically robbing the developer, so here I am

I found out about this game sometime ago but never got around to actually trying it but now that i have and it was a very fun and dramatic experience.

For starters, i want to get this off my chest but the artstyle is fantastic, every character feels lively and expressive and dont even get me started with the backgrounds. Gorgeously made and really adds to the dystopian future vibe the game is going for. The game also adds a tad of 3D into it as well which doesn't clash with the pixel artwork at all and as a matter of facts, adds to it. Everything was a pleasure to look at.

The music is also fantastic as well. from the menu theme to the level themes, especially doing the last level. incorporating the main theme of the game into it made it alot more epic and dramatic too, having you start from the bottom and heading to the top using everything you have learnt so far. Its amazing

As for the story, it was also great too. As you reach the end, you start to really piece together just what is going on. Figuring out that all this time you have been playing a robot using the personality of the character you thought you were playing due to his daughter's mistakes, which later reveals more behind the scenes actions like how the biggest corporation in the country stealing different personailities and using it to mass-produce robot soldiers to become stronger and stronger. It was very engaging and added to the game a lot.

While there aren't alot of characters in this game, they all servered their purpose. the most important character in the story being Mari. She was a blast to have around, making jokes and references to real-life stuff essentially breaking the fourth wall was a nice way to add some level of comedy into a game taking place in a very bleak looking future. She later becomes more serious and you as the player find out just how important she is in the story.

The gameplay was probably the thing i enjoyed the most. It is quick and has very fun movement to keep you on your toes. constanting swinging and destroying robots gave me such a adrenaline boost every time and made me want to play more and more till the end.

Personally speaking however, every game has its flaws but while i don't have much to speak about and they are mostly nitpicks and just slight issues for me, i still think it is worth mentioning.

For starters, this is very nitpicking but eventhough the artstyle is amazing. there are some parts which i couldn't wrap my head around such as the character sprites not having their own sprites when turned around. This can be easily told through the main character who has a giant metallic claw arm as one of his arms and its usually on his right arm so you would expect the arm to be on the other side if he turns around but no, the sprite just flips so the arm then appears on his left arm which i found quite confusing.

Another nitpick i have are the enemies, i do really wish it was more varied but the majority of enemies are just there to give you a boost to something, as in you hit them once and their done. They did try to spice things up with immortal enemies which i found nice but they only appeared for like 2 sections of the game which i found kinda lame. There werent any enemies that takes multiple hits to destroy or the like except for bosses.

Another thing thats not really a negative but more of thing i wish was in the game is a way to check around you more easier. might be a skill issue but the amount of times, i took a leap of faith and falling to my death because i couldn't tell what was in front of me is staggering. Maybe a way to zoom out the camera in selected spots of the level would be a nice QoL.

Also another thing, since this game is pretty dialogue heavy. i noticed SOME grammar mistakes here and there like missing spaces and even missing words. not the end of the world but just something i noticed.

Eitherway, this game is fun and exhilarating and i highly recommend you guys to try it out for the gameplay and maybe even the story. I sorta wish i knew this game much sooner and hope more people knew about it as well. Despite having Overwhelming Positive ratings from the time of writing this, ive seen no ever mention this game in other places which sucks. I will try to spread the word of this game whenever i get the chance.
