Can't Launch Game
Like other threads have posted I cannot launch the game. It appears on the task bar but when anything has been inputted it goes to a black screen, and any other input with cause it to crash. I've many of the suggestions both here and on reddit and found no success with any of the methods.

I have uninstalled/reinstalled, changed drive location, verified cache files, disabled cloud save, disabled steam overlay, launching with the options "-windowed -noborder-, and updated my drivers.

The game looks sick but I'm baffled as I've spent to close to an hour trying to get a logo or something at least to pop up

Hey Jimmy?,

We're sorry to hear you're having this issue.

Have you ever been able to play the game at all?
Do you see any loading icon that just continues?

Get back to us when you can.

Hi Jimmy?,

Thank you for confirming that for us.

Have you played the demo previously?

So that we can better understand the problem and recommend a solution, we would like to request that you please send us your DxDiag information via the steps below:
  1. Hold down the Windows Key and press R
  2. The Run dialog should appear. Type dxdiag in the available text field.
  3. Click OK
  4. Click Save All Information
  5. Set the Save as type to Text File (*.txt)
  6. Save the file DxDiag.txt to your Desktop so it is easy to find.
  7. Open the .txt file, copy all the contents > Paste all the contents to a free text hosting service such as https://justpaste.it/ or http://pastebin.com/
  8. Copy the link to your post and paste in your reply
Once we have this information, we will do our best to further assist you in resolving this matter.

Hello Jimmy?

Thank you for getting back to us and sorry the problem still persists.

Can you please try the following and see if this resolves the problem - please note: when doing this, any saves will be deleted and you will therefore be required to start a new save game upon restarting.
  1. Uninstall the game.
  2. Make sure all the files for Dredge are off your system.
  3. Now reinstall Dredge back onto your system.
  4. Once you have reinstalled the game please Verify the files of the game.
To make sure all files are off your system please use the following paths:

C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\DREDGE
C:\Users\%username%\AppData\LocalLow\Black Salt Games\Dredge\
C:\Users\%username%\AppData\LocalLow\Black Salt Games\Dredge\saves

Once you have done this launch the game and test to see if the problem continues.

Regards,
Team17 Support

Hi Jimmy?,

Thank you for trying the steps, we're sorry to hear these have not helped!

To reveal any possible issues with your Windows system, we would like to recommend that you please attempt the following actions:
  1. Open the Windows Start Menu
  2. Type “cmd”
  3. Right-click on Command Prompt > Run as administrator
  4. Type “sfc /scannow” without the quotes
  5. Press Enter
  6. If the process has revealed/resolved any issues, please attempt to run the game again
If that doesn't resolve the issue, can you please then follow the steps in the link to perform a clean boot?[support.microsoft.com]
A clean boot is being used to start your Windows device using a minimal set of drivers and startup programs.
  1. Press Ctrl+Shift+Esc to open the Task Manager.
  2. Click More Details.
  3. Select the Startup tab.
  4. Right-click on each item and select Disable.
  5. Press Windows Key + R.
  6. Type msconfig and press Enter.
  7. On the Services tab click to select the Hide all Microsoft services checkbox, and then tap or click Disable all.
  8. Click Apply and restart the computer.
Once this is done please launch the game to see if the issue still continues.

To re-enable your start-up programs:
  1. Follow the steps above again but enable all of your programs and services.
  2. Then click Apply and restart your computer.
Get back to us when you can!

Hey Jimmy?,

We're glad to hear that!

This will mean something on your PC is causing the issue, application, game, anti-virus, etc it could be.
We would recommend turning them back on one by one and then testing the game each time.

It may be time-consuming but you'd be able to see which application it was then.

Thank you!
