Game is completely stuck on black screen after power outage
I was really enjoying this game and made it all the way to the final location when my power went out and the game crashed. After that, when I load the game, it is just a black screen. It doesn't even show the loading screen. I saw the response to Dr. ESKETIT yesterday and tried what you suggested in that post but like I said, the game does not go past a black screen so the deleting old save file doesn't do anything. I really do like the game and want to continue to play it but right now it is unplayable and nothing I have tried has helped so I have pretty much given up because I don't know what else to do.

Did you try deleting the settings file too?

Thank you for getting back to us and sorry the problem still persists. 
 
Can you please try the following to see if it will resolve the problem: 
  1. Uninstall the game. 
  2. Make sure all the files for Dredge are off your system.
  3. Now reinstall Dredge back onto your system. 
  4. Once you have reinstalled the game please Verify the files of the game. 
To make sure all files are off your system please use the following paths: 
  1. C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\DREDGE 
  2. C:\Users\%username%\AppData\LocalLow\Black Salt Games\Dredge\ 
  3. C:\Users\%username%\AppData\LocalLow\Black Salt Games\Dredge\saves
Please Note that you will need to remove the saves from the folder if you want to keep them before uninstalling.

Once you have done this launch the game and test to see if the problem continues.

I can now load the game but the save file that I saved was corrupted so I'm back to the beginning
