Thanks for getting in touch with us - sorry to hear you've had some issues with your saves.
Can you please copy and paste the following folder directory into your Windows search bar:
- C:\Users\%username%\AppData\LocalLow\Black Salt Games\DREDGE\backup-saves
Then look for dredge-save0.bin.bak_0, or a file named similarly, and move that to the normal saves folder here:- C:\Users\%username%\AppData\LocalLow\Black Salt Games\Dredge\saves - please make sure that the game is closed when doing so.
Then once you have copied and pasted this into the normal saves folder, please move the original dredge-save0.bin to your desktop if you still have it in there and then rename dredge-save0.bin.bak_0 to dredge-save0.bin.If when you launch the game following this, it starts loading for a long time, please try and verify your files. To do this:
- Right-click on the game in your Steam Library
- Choose Properties
- Switch to the Local Files tab and press Verify integrity of game files...
Then attempt to run the game to see if the issue is resolved.Get back to us when you can and let us know how you get on!

Thanks for getting back to us.
Could you please try reading through this Steam thread and try the steps recommended by both devs and other players to see if any of these solutions help?
Unfortunately, if both your backup and normal saves have become corrupted, there isn't a way to restore them past this point and at this stage, we would recommend restarting the game on a new playthrough - we do apologise for any inconvenience this may cause.
Please do let us know how you get on.
Regards,
Team17 Support
