Controller bugs out after a fixed amount of time
Whenever I play this game with a controller, it bugs out on me which makes the game unresponsive to my controller input after an amount of time. I can use it just fine at the start of the game, but after a while I cannot use it anymore as the buttons no longer produce input for the game.

Mouse and keyboard always seem to work, so whenever I get this issue I've found that feeding input from the keyboard or mouse seems to fix the issue temporarily, the game then "wakes up" from its unresponsive state and I can use the controller again. This bug happens quite often which is annoying because it breaks the game's flow.

For reference, I use a ps3 controller with DsHidMini v2.2.282 running in the background mapping the controls from the PS3 controller to XInput controls. This setup has never given me trouble with other games.

Let's see if we can fix this for you by changing some of the Steam settings.

Can you please follow the steps below:
  1. Unplug the controller
  2. Launch the Steam client and click the controller icon at the top right to enter Big Picture Mode
  3. Go to Settings > Controller Settings and make sure that "Playstation/Xbox/Generic Configuration Support" are all toggled on.
  4. Then simply plug your controller and retest the game
Get back to us when you can.
