We're sorry to hear you're having this issue.
Do you have a save currently on-going?
If yes, are you able to load that save?
Please can you also try verifying your game files:
- Right-click the game in your library
- Go to 'Properties'
- Go to the local files tab
- Click 'Verify integrity of game files...'
Get back to us when you can.Regards,

Thanks for your reply.
Apologies, could you please confirm if you already have a save currently ongoing?
Is it possible to load that at all? What happens when you try?
Get back to us when you can.

Clicking on Load/New game didn't seem to respond either.
I tried to uninstall the game and reinstalling it to see if that could fix it, but to no such luck. I'm still getting the same thing. Went as far to turn off cloud save.
Thank you for getting back to us and confirming those details.
We suspect that your save file may be corrupted - in order to test this could you please attempt the following steps:
Could you please first disable your Steam cloud saves by:
Move the files dredge-save0.bin and dredge-save1.bin from inside this folder to a different location for safekeeping and then delete the save folder completely and relaunch the game.
Once you have relaunched the game, it should generate a new save folder - once this has happened, close the game and move both files back into the save folder - you will be asked if you would like to replace the file that the game has regenerated automatically, please choose yes.
Then, launch the game and attempt to play from your saved files by selecting Continue in-game.
Alternatively, if this doesn't resolve the issue, the saves themselves may be corrupted and we suggest that you delete the files from within your save folder.
Please note: when doing this, your original save will be deleted and you will therefore be required to start a new save game upon restarting.
Can you please go into the games save folder from your desktop, using the search bar to locate C:\Users\%username%\AppData\LocalLow\Black Salt Games\Dredge\saves
When you open this folder, there will be the same 2 save files named: dredge-save0.bin and dredge-save1.bin - could you now delete these files and then attempt to launch the game again and see if the issue continues to occur?
Please do let us know how you get on with this step - if the issue still persists, don't hesitate to reach out so we can investigate this further

Thank you for the work around. I'd like to also say that I really enjoy this game, and I can see there's a lot of potential for dlcs, so I'm hype about future updates.
Speaking of which, do you guys have maybe a hotfix coming down the line to fix said issue, or any further details on how this could happen if it's due to user error?
Reason I'm asking is because I don't want to end up having to start over afterwards as I'm pretty far in the game (mangrove area) and I don't want this to happen again.
@大头 - sorry to read you are having the same issue!
Could you please confirm if the issue still persists after following the above steps provided? If so we can investigate further so get back to us when you can!
@Tolki - thank you for confirming this has worked for you! We're so glad to see this and thanks for providing that additional step for players to use whilst performing these steps - we really appreciate it!
Happy Dredging!
@Rigamortis - thanks for getting back to us - glad to see this has worked for you and that you're enjoying the game!
Unfortunately, we are not able to provide an exact timeline but it is something the team are currently investigating and we are hoping for a fix soon.
Any information about upcoming updates and hotfixes will be announced across our social media channels - you can find us on Twitter and Discord[discord.gg] for these!
That said, thank you for letting us know about this issue and for your understanding in the meantime.
Please don't hesitate to reach out in the future should you have any further queries.
