Resting is getting VERY tedious - I'm not sure if there's a max amount of parts you can buy from the trader, but I've done a "stop at one, rest 7 days and then onto the next" 2 times now with no parts up for sale at all!
Where are you guys dredging mainly? I'm not sure where the most respawnable points are.
All you have to do is increase the research point drops in salvage. I only got RP from dredging maybe ~5 times. Of course that doesnt help me specifically because after about day 100 I noticed that the dredge locations stopped showing up and now they are completely gone so the only way I can get RP is to wait for the trader to restock. I'm not waiting for that to happen another 20 times.
When I noticed progression slowing down I simply started dredging again. Dredge spots have a chance to give you gears instead of their regular clutter. Combined with the occasional Research Part from the traveling merchant I had everything maxed out before being done with Devil's Spine and all side quests.
I had even stopped salvaging dredge for an extended period of time before. Had I not done that I would've finished research MUCH sooner.
The balance is a little off to be missing this many. Atm it kinda locks you out of certain ship upgrades. I ignored unlocking most of the crab pots, I don't know if this balance was intentional to push players towards choosing a certain build? It doesn't feel like that kind of game though.
And having an achievement for them seems crazy, I don't wanna spend hours grinding for them when I've done everything else. I hope this can be looked at now that there's more player data to work with
Grab the dredge spots.
Save and Quit.
Load.
Rinse and repeat.
Not the solution of course as it's just using the save/load to refresh the points but it does work.
Would be nice if perhaps there was a purpose for extra materials like wood, scrap, cloth, refined metal. Like perhaps the towns/npcs had extra quests for materials and they reward you with a research part(s) for a set of mats.
