New DLC in the future

After completing this wonderful game and seeing its two endings, I wonder one thing.

In the future there will be a new DLC that adds more things to the story, gameplay and difficulty or the game will stay as it is or a Dredge 2 with a different story will obviously be released in the future.

My sincere congratulations to the developers for such a masterpiece.

It´s a dlc so i wont hold my breath it has more content than the main game..

Why? The main game doesn't have any gaping holes that were arbitrarily carved out just to sell it back as DLC. The upcoming DLC is additional content on top of a complete base game. Seems fine to charge for that.

I would love to have different types of boats.

Whaling vessels, oil tankers, cargo ships, old-fashioned luxury cruise ships/ocean liners

Kind of a different contrast to what you're doing but I think if this was on a larger scale that would be awesome, fast sprawling oceans , enormous monsters, tidal waves, maybe some slight crew management to keep you occupied on long Journeys.

Don't get me wrong, fishing is cool but I would love to see other types of jobs in a potential sequel or DLC.

It's official that we'll get two (and a half) free content updates then a pretty chunky DLC with a storyline expansion.

Honestly not sure about the direction they went with it, but they've been sterling so far. I'm willing to trust they'll make it good and fitting, even if it sounds a bit jarring.

I would like to have seen more books. I thought that addition was really cool. After I got to twisted strand, I didn't really get any new books.

Maybe have reoccurring quests? Like the trinket trader sends you to various islands to fetch some loot from a recent shipwreck? Build a mini game like a fishing tournament or race(s).

Perhaps make a secret seller, or have the traveling merchant sell different items in each area.

I finished the game with 12k cash. Perhaps there could be a way to invest in the docks for dock workers, shops, or other items (upgrades or night time assistance). I agree with Gironda Curls, add different types of boats for different roles, which could be necessary for the various islands, especially devil's spine with the underwater heat vents.

Include day time threats like pirates?

story wise took me near 12, 100% took 19 in total

it shouldnt be that hard to make a sequel: Dredge 2 about a new area, that the fisherman gets a specific cargo that needs to be delivered in a far distant foggy area that is known for dangerous fishes and strange people.
and add different boat types, new cargo system, new fishing system, weather system and that you can move around on the boat. It is all possible.

To be fair, a sequel often is a completely different game from the original.....though, often in a good way.
