Frilled Shark Aberation?

I have caught 78 frilled shark in the volcanic region of devil's spire without getting their aberration version. I have fished with the correct equipment, with and without bait, stalked spawns waiting for them to glow, at night and day, in different spots on that location, with no aberration.

If no one else has experienced this, I guess I'm unlucky. But I wanted to ask if anyone else had this issue, otherwise, I might report a bug? Thanks all!

Thanks for letting me know you got the frilled shark aberration. It's good to know it's possible to get! I guess I'm just unlucky.

Yes, I have the ruin rune. I guess I'll just load up a podcast and get back to it lolol!

Use the Atrophy rune. It seems like it will always pull an aberation.

Frilled Shark was insanely rare for me too. Used dozens of bait until I had the aberration.

yea frilled shark was my last aberration as well, took 60 total frilled shark catches to finally get one, albeit, it took a bit longer on top because I was just spamming mixed bait and the other 2/3 volcanic fish seemed way more likely to show up

It's good to know it's not just rare for me. I didn't know that about the atrophy rune; I tend not to use it b/c I like the fishing itself. But it worked immediately!! Thanks so much for the advice.

I got mine via using bait and camping at the merchant.

Basically goes like:

1) buy baits

2) drop it near the merchant and fish

3) if no abberation, repeat step 1

Did this for every area to complete my encyclopedia
