Craven Courrier - lost the package. Is this a problem later? (Possible spoilers in responses)

I hit a rock after accepting the package for delivery to little merrow and the package was in a damaged square and destroyed. Is this going to be a big problem later as this quest can now no longer be completed?

Did it say the pursuit was completed? (Failed Quests/Pursuits will complete when failed).

I -believe- it gives a book, I can't remember which one, specifically.

But yeah, there are failable quests. You can drown passengers, too.

My actual suggestion if it truly bothers you (or if your engines get knocked out in the middle of the ocean and you only have one- is to quit and restart, and pray you didn't dock and save.

Not only do you not get a reward for delivering it to the Dockworker, but something pretty rotten happens to him. Although he remains in the game.
