How do we sell / remove the Peculiar Engine?
I think I'm missing something here. How do we sell or get rid of the starting engine / Peculiar engine? I can't find any obvious way to do this.

This was our intention, yeah.

I tried everything as well and it's kinda annoying because it's just taking free room in my storage and I can't drop it which is weird because the first engine upgrade for just 1 research point is already strictly better.

Has to be a bug or we are really missing something.

The shipwright installs, removes, and repairs.

FYI: Until you've researched better engines -- best to stick with it.

I'm guessing it's sort of a fall back for people who might sell their engines to buy something else, then have no money and no engine and be piss slow till you get a new one. Should be enough room in your storage for two slots tho :)

I am at the end game. Have the best engine in the game researched already but I still can't remove the beginners engine from my storage. I just can't drop it/sell it. I can either install it on my ship or its stuck in my storage and it's occupying 2 spots in there for nothing.

So is it a bug then?

You can't Sell or Discard the Peculiar Engine. It's your back-up engine should you mistakenly sell your better engine and not have enough money to buy a new one.

There's not really any point in the game where you absolutely need every single Storage slot, but it would be nice if the Peculiar Engine was sold for free from the Shipwright / Travelling Merchant.

The author of this thread has indicated that this post answers the original topic.

Fyi you can put materials needed for upgrade in the material slots without upgrading and come back to them later

Probably a good thing, as I keep selling things by mistake.

What would be cool is a "Set as Primary Engine" button. Where you can make another engine un-sellable and then sell the Original engine. With the caveat that you can never sell your "Primary Engine", even if you uninstall it from your boat.

You don't. It's to keep you from soft-locking yourself without an engine. Galaxy brain time?

That was already explained and answered 3 months ago in this thread by a developer. Why are you repeating what they already said? Did you read the thread before you replied? I marked them as answered so hopefully more people won't wander in here and repeat things again.
