Oarfish?

I tried sailing through the cliffs during the day and the night, and while I could find the night-only eel, I haven't found the Oarfish. Is it just a really really rare spawn or am I missing something?

How do you give this to the Merchant. I have it in my cargo, but when I dock, she doesn't say anything. Do I sell it to her? Will this tick off a box? I don't want to sell it to her, have it not count, and then no more spawn. (Maybe you have to have all four at once?).

You have to tell the Merchant that you found the fish by going into the pursuit topic. For some reason this one pursuit doesn't give any indicators that there is new dialogue with the Merchant when you find one of the fish. You don't have to actually give the fish to her, you can sell it as normal.

I go into my cabin, click on pursuits, open that topic which shows the four fish with a little diamond next to them, but nothing happens. I click on the diamond next to oarfish, and I click on the line that says oarfish, but nothing.

You have to click on the Travelling Merchant button on the bottom left of the screen while at her pontoon, click on the dialogue about the pursuit, and click until you can tell her you caught the Oarfish.

Thanx for the help. I had completely forgotten about that button at the bottom of the screen. I use them to talk to a lot of people, but I have gotten so use to talking to Merchant thru the fish market & the repair dock that I hadn't use that button since very early in the game. I also found out as I was telling her about the oarfish that I had caught and sold the Gulper Eel a long time ago and didn't even realize I was supposed to be looking for it. That's two off the list, and I found the Goliath tonight.
