How do I use crab pots?
The only instructions I've received on using crab pots is "just put them anywhere, but remember where you put them." Presumably this means putting them in the water, but the only options for removing them from the boat seem to be "storage" or "discard", and I'm pretty sure neither is what I'm supposed to do. Could someone explain how they're supposed to work?

You accidentally clicked through the popup then because it most certainly tells you to select them with the wheel and drop them with right click. You also get a lot more tutorialization in terms of how long they last and repairing them.

You just missed it.

its under the abilities tab with E or whatever you are using. There is a crab cage shown

I'm with you, this is rather ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥. I have no idea how to use the crab pots so I'll try and sell them back or just put them in storage as I can find no tutorial, nor any entry in the encyclopedia. I have zero idea what smoke refers to as "the wheel", and no idea how long they last or repairing them (although the shipwright did repair the one I was given initially). Just my way of saying that you were not the only one who didn't get the tutorial.

The only "♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥" comes from players who haven't bothered to learn the very basic things about this game, like the ability wheel, and then complaining that they cannot play the game properly because they were too lazy to even look up a tutorial in the web. But you are never too lazy to complain, right? Laughable.
