Steam Deck Crashes

The game is constantly crashing on my steam deck for me. Has anyone else had this experience? It is unplayable as it crashes within 5-10 minutes of playing.

I've only played for 30 to 45mins so far with zero problems on my Deck. I only use Desktop mode for all games and always docked to TV with 8bitdo pad. SD card for all games installed, no performance tweaks or anything. So not sure if any of that helps you out but worth trying desktop mode if you haven't already for sure.

I think it might have been something wrong with my deck itself. Couldn't get any results by trying different versions of proton, verifying game files, or reinstalling the game. It seems to be working fine so far after I factory reset my Steam Deck. Fingers crossed it stays that way.

I just hit my 3rd hour on my Deck, and so far, not a single problem. It runs flawlessly for me so far!

Might have fixed it this time with clearing the cache with the vol (-) quick access button and power button reboot. As well as putting it into battery storage mode and then waking it up with a power cable like mentioned in the reddit thread. Really hope the issue doesn't return. But enjoying the game a lot! And it's been running for around 45 mins instead of freezing every 5-10.

game has been working great on my steamdeck, not an issue. runs buttery smooth.

It ended up turning out the my deck was defective. Had to send it in for RMA. The issue started popping up in other games as well. It never did it in pixel graphics games but it seems anything that had any amount of graphical fidelity constantly crashed.

How did you find out your deck was defective? I'm having. This issue with Dredge and can't play it forore than 2 minutes.

I’m having the same issue with Dredge, it started about a week ago, seems to happen with multiple games I have bought in the winter sale, I’ve had the Steam Deck for about 6 months with no issues before this, I try desktop mode and although less frequent but games still cause the deck to crash, maybe an issue caused by latest steam deck update??

I was having crashes every 10 minutes or so as well. Turning in-game V-Sync setting off appears to have resolved it for me. Since I did that, the game has not crashed once during longer play sessions. Note I didn't need to change any Steam Deck settings.

Cannot thank you enough, turning off V-Sync seems to have solved the problem for me. Just played about an hour with no crashes. There are a few more games I will try this on that i have been having issues in!

Same for me, crashing after 30m of play on steamdeck and then, if continue play, starts crashing more often.
