You can put fish in the trawl net to keep them fresh. The Pale Reach adds consumables that delay decay for a while.

Yep. Ice maker. Traders start to sell Ice Cubes that stack with each other. They'll keep fish and each other fresher for longer the more Ice you have. What the maximum is, I don't know.

There is, also, an alternative: If you are trying to hoard fish for pursuits, deliberately infect them using the oil spills or other infected fish. Infected fish, as far as I can tell, do not decay, even after several days.

Hello, this feature is in the game but you need the Pale Reach DLC to have it unless I'm wrong. It's not passive tho, you have to renew it

Fish last a decent amount of time anyway. You could get plenty of value for most of them long before you have to worry, and you can always deliver them anywhere they are needed without worries and without extending their freshness.

Add on that the fish can still be sold or used in any condition where it still looks like a fish and you don't really have to worry about the freshness.

The ice is there just for kicks, not for any necessity.
