Oil puddles and iron rig fishes

If i have no oil puddle in the entire map the iron rig fish respawn will be decreased? i'm asking this because i cleaned all puddles.

Howdy! I just barely did the exact same thing. The Iron Rig fish will still spawn exactly the same even after eliminating all puddles. You can also bring back more puddles by talking to the Foreman and asking him about puddle locations.

One random qualifying region each time you speak with the foreman. If you haven't got to the point where puddles form in the mangrove, for instance, they won't respawn there when you speak with the foreman. I don't know if there's any particular cooldown on the interaction or what the minimum-maximum number of new puddles is.

Also note that you don't have to have oil puddles present to catch the new fish. The fishing spots are always there even if you clean up all the oil.
