what DLC do I need (or which one is best)

dont have the core game yet but think about buying the complete edition.
is this worth it or should I buy just the core game and maybe ONE DLC?

Iron rig has more content than Pale reach but if you want to save some bugs, just buy the base game and both dlc`s separately.

Hello, I agree Iron Rig is more worth since it adds more gameplay and not really less story but unless you know you will like the game I'd advice maybe to play a bit the default game and after some time guess if you enjoy it enough to get the DLC

Both DLCs work on saves made before you get them and both are really doable starting around midgame so there is not real utility to have them prior anyway

Buy the base game and both content DLC's. The day 1 dlc isn't worth it. It's just crap you get that you replace very soon after the start of the game. You also make a lot of cash from crab pots once you unlock them so you really don't have to worry about the extra item you get from the deluxe content.

The base game and The Pale Reach were good. I haven't played the Iron Rig myself but I'd say get it as the game itself is good so more of the same you can't go wrong with.
