What Else Do You Play?
Obviously, we are all here because we love Dredge. And I hope I am not breaking any rules. But as someone looking for more games like this - relaxed, almost cozy but with great atmosphere (regardless of the type, as long as the atmosphere is well conveyed) - I cannot helpt but wonder...what else do you play?

Are there are cozy relaxed, atmospheric games you play? please pass them on!

Hmm... dunno about "cozy and relaxed" in context.

If you're looking for the Lovecraftian elements
There's Darkest Dungeon (I'm speaking of one, I haven't played DD2).
There's Sunless Sea
There's Cultist Simulator
There's the Book of Hours (which is more forgiving than Cultist Simulator).
There's Vambrace: Cold Soul (which was inspired by Darkest Dungeon, but features different mythology).
There's Graveyard Keeper (which is a bit like Stardew Valley, only ... macabre, in a cute, pixelated way.
There's Strange Horticulture too.

if you're looking more for the "cozy" elements
There's Stardew Valley
There's My Time at Portia and My Time at Sandrock.
There's Starbound
There's Core Keeper
There's Dave The Diver
There's Townscaper
There's Tiny Glade
There's Above Snakes
There's Potion Craft: Alchemist Simulator
There's Sable

There's other stuff too, but those are the ones I've actually played enough personally to have a feel for them.

Hello, the most "cozy atmospheric" game I would think of related to Dredge would be Inscryption.
Inscryption's atmosphere is really, really good and even if is in an horror style (more than Dredge but still chill) it feels cozy in the same time
Deep lore (careful not to be spoiled), puzzles/mystery, great rogue lite card game gameplay, as a first card video game while I had big doubts I would enjoy this gameplay but also more experienced people say it's good too

Also a game you can (and are supposed to) enjoy figuring out how things work at your speed thanks to the rogue lite aspect

Sounds really cool. I will check it out.

Thanks!

If you are in Lovecraftian, I'm dropping these ones, although - they aren't DREDGE type games.

Sometimes I play Terraria.

I sometimes play the guitar. Well, no. That isn't quite right. I sometimes try to play the guitar, and the sounds that come from the frustration of my uncoordinated fingers plucking at the strings remind me that I should stop playing the guitar and be contented to listen to music.

I second inscryption, def has the same sort of feel as dredge (obv very different gameplay) just a fantastic game.
I would definitely recommend Sunless Sea,and even better, Sunless Skies.
Also Dave the Diver might really do the trick of a similar vibe, not only being a game under the sea but also the multi-faceted side of gameplay is similar.

Of the most cozy and colorful games, I liked
Lightyear Frontier. The most terrible enemy in it is the weed.

Fellow failbetter fan
I do admit, i wonder what a 3D lorn-fluke would look like
Really great suggestions here! Thanks, everyone.

I'd also love to see a 3D Failbetter game. Maybe with a little less grind, but I do love their writing and atmosphere.

Hmm, Failbetter is pretty small as I recall. Dunno if they'd have the people to handle 3D development. I think they've got 12 people at the moment.

Sunless Sea and Sunless Skies were both done in Unity. Unity can be used for 3D development. But, developing 3D assets while also maintaining the general look and tone (of their existing games) isn't a small feat.

Red Hook did do that, they moved to 3D with Darkest Dungeon 2, But I think they at least doubled their staff in the process, and I think DD1 was more successful than Sunless Sea was, so they may have had more capital to work with. Dunno though, I'm just speculating.
I think the thing about Dredge is it's cozy but the horror story ambiance undermines that cozyness with an undercurrent of tension.
So it's really different from most cozy games and it's too easy to be put together with most horror themed games.

Good point!

I never really liked Horror as a genre. Too much of it relies on jump scares, body horror or gore. I have discovered, however, that I do appreciate horror very much when it eschews these cheap, typical methods and instead focuses on atmosphere and an overall sense of otherwordly unease as opposed to cheap jump scares or the plain grotesque.

Might be that I should find some good horror games that do likewise.
